I had similar difficulty. This worked for me after 45 mins grief.

I got a heavy duty 1cm wide elastic band (length double was about 14-15cm). This is a common size heavy duty elastic band in the UK.

This elastic band is much too long to go around the glass bulb cover so I tied a knot in it so that i had a complete circle of rubber band tightly held around the bulb cover. Then I used a Mole wrench -a kind of large adjustable spanner - to undo the glass bulb cover. It came off easily because the rubber band gave sufficient grip to undo it. It is about 2.5 full turns anticlockwise to completely free it.

I hope this will help the next viewer of this website.

I had same grief for 45 mins. It unscrews anticlockwise about 2 full 360 degree turns but is "baked in" and can't usually be turned by hand.. Once removed, there is a bulb inside that will easily unswrew with your fingers.

In order to actually get the bulb cover to turn, I used a rubber band 1cm wide and 14cm long when double. A common heavy duty rubber band i the UK. This is too long to wrap around the glass bulb holder to provide a grip surface for an adjustable spanner or, as I used, a Mole wrench. So I tied a knot in it to make a shorter loop. Ensure it is a pretty tight fit around the bulb holder and won't slip easily. The cover came undone as easy as anything.

Hope this helps someone. This is a great site and I thought of my idea from Fixya answer saying try wearing rubber gloves.

My whirlpool oven model RBD245 is locked after the self cleaning cycle, it does not heat up even if i open the latch with a tool?

Whirlpool have the self clean latch assembly solenoid go bad and wont return back to unlock the switch to tell the control is is no longer in self clean. Replace the self clean latch assembly or make sure the switch on the assembly is in the non self clean mode, If the oven starts working then you know the problem if it still doesn't work then there may be other issues.

How do you remove the door from a frigidaire gallery series double wall oven(self cleaning)?

Open the door and look at the hinges the connect the oven door to the oven body, on each side you will notice a piece that can be moved back and forth without moving the door, roll each side toward the oven body this should be the locked position, now try to close the door and you will notice the hinges lift up. At this time you need to pull up and push forward on the door and both hinges will come out.

How to change oven light

Which model Whirlpool range do you have? For most Whirlpool ranges that I have used , the oven light is covered by a screw-on glass cover. When the oven is cool, unplug the range, open the door and turn the cover counter-clockwise (to the left). Then remove the 40W bulb (again counter-clockwise rotation). Replace the bulb with another 40W appliance bulb. Then replace the cover by turning it clockwise until it is tight. Do not over-tighten either the bulb or the cover. Then plug in the power cord for the range. (Unplugging the unit makes sure that you will not get shocked if anything goes wrong. Sometimes the bulb may break in the socket - in that case, use pliers to unscrew the base of the bulb before replacing it with a new bulb.)

Whirlpool has the manuals for most of their appliances on their support site: https://www.whirlpool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/OCManualsLiteratureSearchView?catalogId=10561&langId=-1&storeId=10211&krypto=5QgxQhneFliXuEuX564wSQ%3D%3D&ddkey=http:OCManualsLiteratureSearchView .

I hope this helps.

Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 oven can't figure out how to change the lightbulb and it is not listed in the owners manual. Can anyone tell me how to remove the lightbulb cover?

The glass lens cover for the bulb is usually screwed into the socket so turn it counter clockwise and see if it comes off. When replacing the light bulb, press the door switch to ensure no power is going ot the bulb socket to prevent it from damaging the new bulb.

Whirlpool RBS305PDQ11. After self-clean, oven won't heat up.

This seems to be a common problem with these ovens. The oven got too hot and the tco (Thermo cut off)tripped. This will have to be replaced. It is located behind the control board.

Oven

Pry back the bulb glass cover wire spring and remove glass cover. Use heavy rubber gloves or a plastic bottle opener(piece of serrated soft plastic/rubber) and unscrew counterclockwise.
