LG 8008R compressor runs one minute then fan blows 3 minutes

My unit is definitely in Cool Mode, but acts like it is in Dry Mode. Dry Mode is meant for keeping humidity down with minimal cooling. However, my unit seems to think it is always in Dry Mode. I have unplugged it, cycled through the modes, and screamed at it. No matter what I try, all night the cycle repeats - compressor on one minute, fan blows for a few minutes and the cycle repeats. This unit is 2 months old and worked great until a few days ago. My bedroom was ice cold before and the unit had no problem at all.

You need to have an AC tech come out and do some preliminary testing on this.

SOURCE: Airconditioner LG LSk181-N2 shutting off

Sounds like your aircon is stuck on heating mode. Or. The outdoor fan speed is affected by ambient temperature, or low refrigerant. In heating mode the indoor fan will come on for a while to sense temperature and will then wait for the outdoor unit to pump up pressure and build up heat.

SOURCE: mr slim unit in bedroom 9kbtu - room 11x12'- is humid, awful

Lets clarify. DRY mode only dehumidifes that air and does not cool. Cool is used for cooling. Dry mode doesn't normally have temp control; it is automatically set by the unit. I think 9000btu is a big unit for the room; it is overkill. I would switch to a 5000btu unit. it cannot be fixed and the BR unit needs to be uninstalled and the new unit needs to be re-installed. The price of commisioning, de-commisioning and new unit is something in which you will have to pay.

My LG unit starts fine and cools but the fan runs at hi speed only and I cannot select any other speed although I hear a beep when they are seleted

In Auto mode, and jet cool or fast cool (if option is there in your remote), you can't change speed. Keep cool mode and then press fan again and again still you get required speed. Suppose, as you said beep sound is there when you select speed, check related speed terminal in PCB. If power is there, winding open in motor. If no power, replace/repair PCB. Thanks and hope it's helpful.

Window air condition (LG)

Your coils could be dirty. Also try cleaning the air filter. I am not familar with your exact model but there will be a filter behind the plastic grill. Most of them pull out from the top or bottom of the case. As for the coils get a can of A/C coil cleaner from your local hardware store and follow the directions. Most of the time these two things will get your unit working again.

LG AC compressor problem

Compressor may be locking up. Run capacitor may be weak or loose wire. Sounds like major voltage drop off as unit head pressure increases.

Ac do not drop down the tempture of room.

I have the same problem. Sounds like the unit is stuck in "Dry Mode". Dry Mode runs the compressor for short intervals (like one minute at a time). Mine is only 2 months old and worked great until a few days ago.

LG PTAC acting strange in heat mode

I believe the problem in lies in the dual stage heat mode setup on the thermostat, but the unit going into defrost does make the unit act kinda strange. Even more so than other types of equipment. I would suggest hiring a licensed HVAC service technician if the problem cannot be resolved by yourself.

Unit runs a lot. Doesn't condense much water. Sometimes fan runs alone, sometimes compressor runs alone.

You may also want to check the coils and make sure they do not have dirt or dust on them. If they are clean you may have an issue with the refrigerant level which will cause the coils not to cool properly. For that you will want to contact LG. There could be an issue with the compressor also. LG backs alot of their models with a 5 year warranty. Contact them and let them know about your issue. Make sure you still have your reciept. Here is their contact number:
