How did you test for 240? How is the unit wired? Which brand and type water heater do you have? What product are you hooking up to 240V? What does product label show? Is this electric tank-type water heater, or electric tankless? Is the water heater new? Or older heater? Have you pressed in reset button on tank-type?

did you turn the unit off before hooking it up ? Any function on a tankless rennai the pwer has to be turned off and the priority button has to be pushed in,, if you have the manuel it tells you haw to do this,,
