My fisher and paykel dryer ( mod# ED56 ) wont start, all the lights still work but when you push start the start light flashes and beeps 3 times and nothing happens, is there a reset switch? cheers murray
I had this same problem with my Dryer. It is making the few quick beeps because it thinks the door is still open. Near the bottom of the opening to the dryer there is a sensor switch that gets pushed in when you shut the door. Try holding the switch in with a knife or something and then start the dryer with the door open to check if that is the problem.
After i did this, i closed the door and my dryer started as normal.
Thanks. Your suggestion to hold the switch in, whilst starting the dryer again, was helpful. When the dryer started fine with the switch held in (with the flat head of a screwdriver), I knew I'd found the fault. A little more jiggery pokery and the door was lined up again to do the job properly.

It will be the door closed switch not activated. First locate the switch. It will either be a push button switch on the side of door opposite the catch or at the top of the door opening will be a slot and on the inner side of door is a long plastic tab which goes through that slot & pushes the switch inside the cabinet. If the plastic tab is broken off you need a new door to fix the problem.
