Not sure about the substitutes. But i will tell you that whatever deck you look at make sure that the spindle heights are the same size as what the originals were. And thats measuring from the top of the deck to the middle of the belt guide

These are safty features. I would not recomend bypassing any of them. Many folks have lost a foot by doing so.

Likely you will need to remove the deck from the mower.

Then remove the blade, tray, and retainer to expose the woodruff key. Remove key and spindle should slide out of the spindle housing.

12.5 B&S 286707 type 0158-01 on Cox Stockman mower. In need of wiring diagram of the charging circuit. Which wires go where from generator to battery, please?

I did a search for your model mower. Nothing came up. I searched the engine diagram, but that doesn't help much. If you can take a picture or two and post here I should be able to help you. On my briggs, the red wire from stator goes to positive terminal of battery and yellow wire goes to amp meter on dash.

The next number after the type is the engine code. The first digits of the code is the year model.

Input your model and serial number of your machine on this site to download a manual. The manual SHOULD have deck removal and installation instructions. I don't know your serial number, but there is a label on your machine that has it. Go here:
