I have a 2001 silverado 2500. When it is cool the ac works perfectly. when the truck warms up, the ac compressor will kick off and for a few minutes will intermintally kick back in and blow cold air for a short time the back off. when it is completely warm the compressor will not engage. checked the cycling switch, relay, and hvac fuses

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. A mechanic worked on it recently to fix electrical problems with the power window. Before the mechanic worked on the truck the Air Conditioner worked great. Now...

What engine does your 2500 HD have? Is it a 6.6 diesel, a 6.0 gas, or an 8.1 gas engine? If it's a gas engine, the A/C compressor belt may have snapped (common). The gas engines used a separate, smaller belt to drive the compressor, while the larger serpentine belt runs the rest of the accessories. Diesel engines only have one belt that runs all accessories, including the A/C compressor.

Ac not working not a fuse or relay ?

The accumulator or dryer looks like a long cylinder, it has a pressure switch on it and two wires attached to it. pull the wired molex off, with the ac set on max cooling, jump out the two wires with a wire or paperclip, if the clutch on the ac compressor engages, check the cab to see if its cooling, if it does cool the switch needs to be replaced, if it does not cool, you may need freon, and there could be a sign of a leak in your system, that can be best checked with ac manifold guages. the low pressure switch is there for safety if the canistor or accumulator is low or has no freon the switch opens up and keeps the clutch from running so that the compressor will not burn up. good luck!

On a 2001 chevy silverado 2500HD the ac blows cool in idle or slow speeds but while driving the air gets warm and then cool warm and then cool etc. i cant tell if the compressor is cutting on and off

You might be low on freon if not compressor going bad to see if your compressor is going on and off turn on a/c on max have some one hold gas peddle down around 1500 rpm or just at a small fast idleif compressor goes on and off recharge it most likely one or two cans will be enough

AC is not putting out cold air needs freon how to you put freon in a 2001 2500 silverado

you need to chase the lines from the ac generator. there is two spots, an inlet and an outlet. it has a black cap on it and looks like a connection to a compressor.

2000 Mitsubishi Spyder ac replay intermittent trouble

two things you may try, relocate ambient sensor to colder place, remove it from front bumper, and connect the two wires on refregerant temp sensor located @ rear of compressor, be carefull and observe your a/c system after doing this

Air conditioner wont cool off.

While your hood is open and engine running can you hear the air conditioner compressor kick on and off as the engines idleing. Check the fuse for the ac unit. And worst case it could be your compressor witch can be pretty spendy.

Ac compressor won't kick on

Just had the same issue and posted. Just found the solution is the control module in the dash. Went to the junk yard since new is expensive on these units. Plugged new unit in, was able to charge a/c now blows cold as ice.
