This sounds like an IC thats Bad

the time it takes for a bad IC to cause the TV's powers supply to over current and shutdown,,,, sounds like what you are describing..

A lot depends on the quality of the cables you are using. If you are using the leads which came with your cable (scart leads) theyare not string enough you need to purchase gold platted leads in insulation...good manufacturers are belkin/ pure av. this goes for hdmi cables too. it is all well and good buying a good tv but you need the superior cables to use it

thi set will need repair , one of the circuts in the power section is failing and will need test to determine the exact cause of the failure, you will need to call your local electronic repair shop to come and take the board out or they will fix it there
