A very common fault with DVD players is the mini tag switch that lets the CPU know when the draw is open or closed...if this is faulty then you will never get your DVD out! another Fault could be that the Eject switch is faulty either dry joint..or there has been some foreign subtance find its way in there and is causing it to short. to get your dvd disc out (disconnect the unit from the mains power) very important that you disconnect it!....next take a phillips screwdriver and undo all the screw to open the unit...the first the you should see is the black deck with the dvd there...using a small screwdriver there should be two small screws holding down the top plastic "T" Looking Plate take them out and pull the "T" plate up and the disc shoould be just sitting there on the axis...remove it...now put the screws back in the "T" plate and then put all the screws back into the outer cause of the unit!....now power up and just see if this has stopped the fault of it not opening...if not you need to take it back for reapair either at the place of purchase or a local repair store....But atleast you got your dvd back!!....hope this helps, ben
Just next to the eject button on the actual recorder there should be a tiny pinhole. If you use a small paperclip and insert it, then push, you should be able to manually eject the DVD. Hope this helps!
