A friend had stored some pictures on her PC but had deleted them from her Panasonic Lumix compact camera. She wanted me to copy them back to the camera card. Some copied okay but others cannot be viewed on the camera (they just show up as blank (black) images). Panasonic support suggested this was because she had rotated them in Windows. I tried reversing this and changing orientation attribute values and managed to get a few more copied but some jpegs just cannot be viewed despite trying every orientation value. The pictures copy to the SD card okay and can be viewed on a digital photo frame but not on the camera. Any ideas?

what type of resolution is it changed
what type of Thumbnail file is written
what is the format

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC L580 and it states that the memory is full. As i dont have a manual how do i delete what is held in the memory please cheers

Are you sure of the model number? I can't find anything about a Lumix DMC-L580. There is a Lumix DMC-LS80. Make sure that you save any pictures before deleting them. Also make sure to have fresh batteries or the camera connected to AC power. If the camera runs out of power, the process will not complete.

To delete pictures from the internal memory, slide the recording/playback switch down. (The switch to the upper left of the arrow keys on the back.) This puts the camera in Play Back Mode. Use the Up/Down arrows (if needed) to select normal playback mode and press Menu/Set (in the center of the arrow keys). The delete button is the one on the right side below the arrow keys. Use the left/right buttons to select a single picture. Press delete. Press the left arrow to highlight Yes. Then press Menu/Set to confirm deleting the image. To delete multiple pictures, use the down arrow to get to Multi Delete or All Delete (instead of the left arrow). Press Menu/Set.

For All Delete, you may see an option to choose All Delete or All Delete except (star). The star indicates Favorites. If needed, pick one, press Menu/Set. Use the left arrow to select Yes and press Menu/Set again.

For Multi delete, use the left and right arrows to navigate through the stored pictures. Press the down arrow to select an image to delete. When you have marked all of the pictures that you want to delete, press Delete again. Press the up arrow to select Yes and press Menu/Set to initiate deleting these pictures. (Note: if a picture is protected, pressing the down arrow will result in On icon blinking red.)

The manual for DMC-LS80 is available from Panasonic support here: https://www.panasonic.com/au/support/manual-download/imaging/lumix-cameras/dmc-ls80.html . The current link to the manual is https://www.panasonic.com/content/dam/Panasonic/support_manual/Digital_Still_Camera/English_02-vqt3-vqt9_other/DMC-LS80%20Operating%20Instructions.pdf . See page 20 for the section on selecting the mode. See page 35 for deleting pictures.

I hope this helps.

(if you have a memory card in the camera, you will need to do the delete steps in two steps. Delete all (or multi) pictures from the internal memory and the memory card separately.)

How do I get the date/timestamp to display on pictures with Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8?

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Memory card is showing full but won't play back any photos stored on it - fine on PC/TV but not camera

Try to delete one picture which you don't want, or one which is fuzzy, etc. Try it then. If it cannot play from the card, then some problem exists in the camera.

I need to recover deleted pics

I have had success with this... Download Asoftech Photo Recovery program
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Pictures will not goto memory card. They only store to camera, therefore i can only take about 5-6 pictures?

Are the pictures stored in the memory important? Then go into the menu , scroll to "copy" and follow the instructions for copying from internal memory to card. Then, remove your card, bring up a picture from the internal memory and push the delete button...choose to delete all. Then, download any pics on your memory card to your computer using a card reader. Then, insert your card back into the camera, go into the menu, scroll to "format" and follow the on-screen instructions. After all this, you should be ok.

How do you delete multiple pictures from the panasonic lumix DMC TZ3.  What mode and or functions on the camera do I use to delete multiple pictures at once?

Hi,
The quickest way to multiple delete pictures from you camera after you have copied or backed them up is to use the camera's menu to format the camera or/and card.
