Fuji E550

BILL,

No, Fuji did not give a discount on my replacement camera, but i believe i found it on sale somewhere for less than I paid for the same model the year before..looking at my Fuji Finepix A500 (#2) here at the desk as I'm typing this.. 2 years old and no problems... $149.00..........

I believe the problem with the first camera was due to an over exposure to sand and salt air during a two week vacation in Florida... The lines started the last night there.... its death was noted by the lens failing to retract fully when turned off... then no movement at all...... hope this helped..... buy one that takes decent pictures, inexpensive, keep it clean, and just replace it if it breaks!!!!!

Fine pix fuji S5000

Motherboard is dead, and it costs much to take it to the repair shop. It doesn't pay off, for that amount of money you can buy a better camera. I'm trying to find a web shop and to check the price, so i could repair it myself, but had no luck finding it so far. Anyone?

Fuji finepix a510

Check out this link: www.digitalcamera-hq.com/digital-cameras/fuji-finepix-z1_question.html?qid=4289
After the basics, try dropping the camera on a carpeted area from about 2-3 feet. It worked for my Fuji A500 and 90% of the responders on the link. Everything on the web said it would cost ~$100 to fix. I was in the process of researching new cameras to buy and had nothing to lose by dropping it on the floor.
The error may be caused by debris in the zoom mechanism preventing it from working. Dropping the camera loosens the debris and voila!
