SOURCE: sony MDR-XB700 broken left ear

You could try to use a player with a stereo balance and adjust that, but in reality you need new headphones. Sonys have very comfortable and flexible cabling but the downside is that they wear out easily.

I am looking for replacement earpads for Sony MDR V600 headphones. Will replacement pads for MDR 7506 fit the V600?

Yes, the replacement pad for mdr 7506 fits in for the v600. They can be replaced for one another. There are different types of v600 and 7506, You just have to look for the 7506 that looks more like the v600. That should do the job for you. Hope this information helped You.

My headphones won't work!

look at the headphone jack, if it has 3 band, it is a stereo jack. the computer is mono.
you need a 2 band jack.
if you look at the jack on the computer, you will see blue(left) and green (right). you canna try to use the green jack.
go to any electroic shop and get a stereo to mono converter.

Jack replacement for mdr-v500 headphone

You don't need to look inside the plug... just open up the earcups and test the jack plug with a continuity tester.

But FYI, Red = ring, Green = tip.

How to Rewire Sony MDR-7506 headphones

Okay, cut and strip the cord. There should be two copper wires and (on Sony headphones, at least) a red and a green strand. On a new 1/8" jack, there should be three connections. The middle one is left, and is where the green one goes. The short one on the side is right, and is where the red one goes. The long bit is the common, and is where the copper one goes. Before you solder, however, remember which strand is which, because you have to sand or burn off the colored enamel. (Use a fine grain paper, or use a standard lighter or stick match- anything else might damage or melt the wire)
