Please add a comment with the model number for direction specific to your oven. I will attempt to determine if there is a different combination to enable or disable the child lock feature. Note: at least one AEG microwave/grill uses Press "Micro+Grill" once. Then press "Clear/Stop" 5 times to toggle the child lock on and off.
It's either the thermostat / switch or the timer unit. Make sure the timer was not set to have turned off the grill first . http://www.espares.co.uk/part/cookers-and-hobs/thermostats/aeg/p/1604/143/0/0/1061574/top-oven-thermostat.html
You need to press 2 or more of the timer/clock buttons in seqeunce to cancel the auto setting.
The sequence of buttons varies according to the make of cooker, so just keep pressing the buttons until you hit the correct sequence.
Hope this helps.
There are five buttons on the clock panel and from left to right they are:- Minute Minder, Cook time, Ready Time, Plus and Minus. TO SET THE TIME OF DAY Press the Cook Time button and the Ready Time button simultaneously. Use the Plus and Minus buttons to set the time.(24hr clock). TO SELECT AN ALARM TONE. Press the Minus button to listen to the first tone. Release it and press it again to listen to the second tone etc (3 tones) Releasing the button after the tone has sounded will automatically set that tone. SETTING THE MINUTE MINDER. Press the Minuter Minder button and either the Plus or Minus buttons simultaneously to set the time. You can cancel the timer at any time by setting it back to 00.00 by using the Minus button. After setting, the display will revert to the time of day, but by pressing the Minute Minder button again, the display will show the remianing time. the problem may be with the clock chip, and not having a functioning clock means that the relay which connects mains power to the lower oven is not tripped. the clock unit costs $200 here in Yurp. since I don't use all the timers and delays that's a lot of money for a clock. so a friend and I took the clock unit out and shorted the relay so that mains power is always provided to the lower oven, and ginger bread is being baked as I type. and just to make it a traditional repair I put a piece of duck tape over the flashing P0.00, that was a bit irritating.
My Smeg oven will not work either. All I get is an "A" on the display, the clock has disappeared and as a result the oven won't come on. I see from other postings here I can bypass the clock so that the oven works again - can anyone advise how I do this?
Look in yellew pages for a Zanussi dealer, you will need mod number,,serial number, and er number, all of which are on the rating plate found at the front of the oven.
