Do not lubricate anything in a dryer you will damage .locate the the squeek if it is coming from the rear of the unit most likly need to replace the drum support or wheels if its intermittant and has a squeek squeeek noise that either gets worse or goes away when the dryer heats up the tensioner pully or the moter berrings are bad

I suggest you replace the drive belt. The belt can slip and cause the squeaking noise. Also check for wear on the support rollers.
Hope this helps.

My kenmore 80 series dryer is making a sweaking noise. is this the bet?

It could be a bad belt, or it could be the rollers that support the back of the drum squeaking. If it is the rollers, they just may need to be lubricated. You can find an exploded view at www.appliancepartspros.com

Had a service call 7 months ago on 16 year old Maytag Stack w/d to lubricate drum roller that was squeaking. Squeak has returned. Any pointers on lubricating it myself, or is it worth replacing the drum...

Lubricating the bearings is usually only a temporary "quike fix".

Replace the bearings, and lubricate the bearing shafts with a lithium grease.
