I have Alcatel Speed Touch PCI modem installed in both my Win 2000 and Win 98. When connect to broadband internet, my Win 2000 works perfectly well. However, my Win 98 doesn't work. Although my Win 98 has been connected through my internet server Plusnet, I couldn't download or upload and couldn't send and receive email. My pc screen had a message saying: Error 650 SMTP server has not responded in 60 seconds... I ask Plusnet, they said its not their problem and refer me back to Alcatel for further help. Please advise. Many thanks.
Windows 98 0r 98se are no longer supported by any kind of internet service providers anymore only windows 2000 and newer. hope this helps.
