Just moved in and after using my gaggenau eb270/eb290 for the first time the oven still feels warm and I think (hope) I turned it off 3 hours ago.

Gaggenau ovens are the best until they begin to fail. Then, they are the most expensive ovens to repair in the business. Sounds like you either need a new gaggenau, or perhaps it is a newfangled model that is so efficient it just stays hot for up to several weeks, thus reducing preheating times.

this oven could be in display mode this only allows non harmful functions to work eg lights etc but no heat this can be disabled through clock test prog reset but you will need an engineer to do it as complicated.

SOURCE: Door locked after power surge/failure

The question here is how long did you leave the breaker off? Gaggenau ovens have a memory and I always advise turn the oven off for 5 mins before turning the breaker back on. Give that a try. The first thing the oven does when the power is reapplied is go thru a test phase which included locking and unlocking the door. The key symbol will go on and off during this. Sometimes you have to also can run a self clean then cancel it to reset the lock. This works as well.

No you don't need to remove the oven door to change the cover of the display. You have to remove the whole unit out and remove the top lid. Don't forget to switch off the circuit breaker before doing this and be careful this unit is heavy.

SOURCE: Gaggenau EB 194 Double Oven fuse blowing

from your description, it seems the little fuse is overheating sometimes, a short is a short and an immidiate fuse blower. i would use a higher amperage fuse, 30 amps. any electronic tech can replace this, doesnt have to be your Gaggenau guy, as it seems to me hes made a regular income of this
