The old way was to throw it on the fire for an hour or so, this will burn out the carbon, you could do it with a small blow torch.

When it is happening? Are there times it does not happen? Did it just start happening? Did it ever work ? Just look for a manual for Ryobi RBC30 and you should find what you want

what you have to do is take it apart andput it back together after reseeting

This unit was not made to have interchangeable heads. Ryobi makes a hedge trimmer attachment for some of its units that are quick connect.
Otherwise, you may buy this attachment and see if you can interchange the head from the brushcutter to the hedge trimmer. You may find it more work than you want to tackle.
