I won one of these machines, but the wiring appears to be degraded. I would like to try to rewire it. Is there a technical manual? I have the version that runs on 120 volts
More on the Gaggia---The wiring is inside the device--I have had it for about 30 years!! The insulation has deteriorated, crackled, etc. I have no problem with the line coming into the machine(thatplugs in). It's the wiring inside the machine that is shot.

Most Gaggia items use individual wiring pieces rather than specialized plugs. If so, you can make your own by getting some regular zip cord at the hardware store and stripping and tinning each section. If you have to put wiring in, be sure to make any kind of screw terminal tight. If the terminal uses a real screw that the wire goes around, be sure the wire goes clockwise around the screw.
Why do you think the wiring is degraded? These guys make good stuff and it is UL approved which means, among other things, that the wiring should last quite a while without degrading.
