If it pulls fine on level ground it sounds like a bad transaxle. If it is not pulling good on flat surface I have seen the drive pulley on the transaxle slipping from stripped splines in the pulley.

SOURCE: finding the oil plug on Cub Cadet LT 1050 with Cohler engine

It is probably on the right side in the middle of the engine. It should have a yellow cap on the end of the drain. Take the cape off and slide about a 12" piece of 5/8" x 1/2" clear vinyl tubing (available at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.) on the end, turn the plastic body to the left (about 1/4") and pull out about a 1/4". Oil will flow. Reverse to shut off.

SOURCE: I have a 2005 Cub Cadet Series 1000 LT 1050 with

Sounds like the drive belt has been thrown off of the drive pulley.
It is fairly simple to identify the drive belt. - it is the one that is connected directly to the pulley coming donw from the motor... and it travles over a tensioner pulley (that you control with the clutch) and then over the large pulley that is mounted over the transmission.

Check to be sure that the belt is ON the pulley... and not broken..

How to replace drive belt on cub cadet 1050

Fairly easy to replace once the deck and the electric PTO are removed just make mental notes or rough of the belt path before removing the old belt. One thought if I remember correctly this uses 7/16" belt and a 1/2" width will not work due to the tight clearance at the engine pulley so stick with OEM belt.

Cub cadet lawn tractor

MOST likely cause is a worn/failed drive belt. I'd replace that first - be SURE to use a Kevlar belt or you'll be repeating the repair in a very short time frame.

I have a Cub Cadet zero turn RZT 50 that when I go up a steep incline and put the driving bars all the way forward it won't move. The back tires don't even spin. When it is on even ground it

being that each wheel has its own pump and motor the common connection is the belt it must be slipping and if its slipping without making a lot of noise look for oil being on the belt if so look for the leak the bottom of the engine crank seal is a common spot
