I replaced both the filter and water valve next to the filter (even though both tested okay). I blew thru both the blue and orange lines which were both clear. I then emptied the resevoir and hooked everything back up. When I tried to dispense water, the reservoir re-filled and the filter became pressurized (more than usual under normal operation) but no water came out. So, I'm getting water in and out of the filter compartment but not to the ice maker or water dispenser.
This unit lists 2 separate water valves, which one did you change?

Did you check for power at the water valve moles plug?
Testimonial: "MJX The valve into the refer seems t be working fine. The next thought was the control board, but I don't know where it is located. So I don't know where to look to see if I can see anything visually wrong with it."

Most of the time the board is on the outside rear wall underneath a metal plate. Did you completely remove the rear system cover and follow the lines to see if their was another valve? Did you check Voltage to the valve that you changed? Do you have any “child lock” on the dispenser?
I found and replaced main board (on top of refer)-still not working. Lock is unlocked. Water is getting as far as filter -confirmed ! Lines from filter to dispenser are clear. Valve at filter replaced. This should be working !!!
ok under the freezer door is the quick connector that feeds the dispensor, so disconnect the quick connector then call for water. If it comes out of the disconnected hose its frozen in the door. You will then needs to defrost the door. Let me know what happens.
I have the same problem with LG LPXS30866d/00 refridgerator. Replaced both valves, main board, and dispenser board (on top of the door). Still no water and ice.

check to make sure the fill tube is not plugged with ice if it is not then i would guess the valve is shot

try forcing the cycle by manually triggering the cycle a few times. Sometimes you can detach the trip arm or turn the tray by hand by disconnecting it from the gear. There may have been a switch bumped to turn it off or the switch somehow jammed. Maybe check for freeze-up. If there is water in it, it's going somewhere.

What is sounds like is somehow either the water delievery system is clogged or frozen. If your getting water out of the door, then it is probably frozen. If you are able to turn off the freezer for a bit, that would be an easy way to see if that is the problem without having to deal with Whirlpool or a handyman.

what is the inside temperature in the freezer? it has to be below 17 degrees before the ice maker even try's to work

The water line is freezing in the door due to deteriorated insulation. The only fix I have found to work on my fridge was to defrost the inside door with a blow dryer. Then place a weedeater replacement line (the orange 10" or so size you find at Lowes' or Home Depot) up through the dispenser nozzle, If the line only travels about 3-4 inches up the nozzle, then ice is still in the tube. Blow dry it until you are able to get water to dispense. After the tube is ice-free, place the weedeater line up throuth the dispenser nozzle leaving about 1/8" sticking out. The dispenser will still work with the line stuck in it. The dispenser will probably freeze again in about 8 hours, But all you need to do each time this happens is to pull the weedeater line out, dispense the water to unclog the ice, and place the weedeater line back in the nozzle. I have been using this method for about a week now and it works great. My GE Side-by-side is also 4 years old and this seems to be a problem with all of them. There is a part you can order to fix the problem, but I have heard it may not work.
