SOURCE: tractor won't go forward or reverse

Check the drive belt. It has probably broken or has come loose.

SOURCE: wont move forward or reverse-- transmission??

Does it have gears or a hydrostatic (automatic) transmission?

If it's a gear model, sounds like a loose drive belt.

If it's hydrostatic, it could be a belt problem or a problem inside the transmission. If it's a tranmission problem, this is not good. Many of the transmissions on riding lawn mowers are not serviceable - they are just replaced.

SOURCE: Was mowing when it just stopped going forward. It

Under the mower below the seat of the rider, at the rear of the tractor, look up and you will find the transmission there. There is a belt that runs on the pulley under there, and this belt can slip off when it gets worn or stretched. Sort of a tough spot to get to but, that is most probably cause.

Runs can push will not go forward or in reverse when using foot controls

Be sure your hydro dump lever located behind the mower near the attatchment hookup is in the operating mode or pushed in?

Lawn tractor won't go forward or reverse

If the engine is running normally and the drive belt between the engine and the transmission is in good shape, most likely you have a failed hydrostatic transmission.

Transmission trouble. Engine runs fine. Will not go forward or reverse.

I presume that this is a hydrostatic transmission. There is probably a lever/rod on the back of the machine that, when pulled, allows the unit to be pushed or pulled. That lever, when pulled out, will prevent the mower from moving under it's own power.

I have a 2005 husqvarna lawn tractor. 24 hp, 48 in deck, the transmission runs fine on level ground but when i go to an incline the tranny slips and i hear a clunking sound, and if i travel farther up hill...

sorry. I don't have an ansewer for you however I might have some helpful hints. Your mower should be going dam near 5 MPH. But yes can't cut in reverse. you have a belt going from the trans axle to the motor. It could be slapping against the frame. The idler puller or the tension pulley could be wobaly where the bearings are gone out. If you remove the 4 bolts on the back of the mower under the seat and gas tank it should visable tell you the story. My question is mine hits gears real hard as if trans mission needs oil or internal damage.

Husqvarna yth2443t little or no movement

make sure the trans. linkage can operate freely. Had the same problem,it was just a build up of grass and dirt.
