SOURCE: WIFI Connection Problem - connects only to EDGE

If you want to use wifi only when your at home you can go in and manually disable the cellular data so the internet will only be wifi based. Probably saving you MB's and data cost.

Go to Settings, General, Network, then simply turn off the Cellular Data. Then it won't connect anymore to the cell data and rely only on wifi when your connected to it.

And simple follow the same steps and revers the process when your out on the go.

Thanks

Hello is there a way I can change the network setting on my LG phone LGL63blight now it's set to Lte and I can be next to my WIFI and I can only get 2 bars

The LTE indicates the phone network signal strength and not the Wifi signal strength. Go to your wifi setup and connect screen to see the Wifi signal strength.
You can try changing your connection to 4G and seeif you get a better connection in your area

I phone 5

What Type/Brand of router ?????

Apple's iPhone is a multimedia connectivity tool.
As such, the iPhone employs a sophisticated system to keep you connected to the web via WiFi signals so that you can stay up to date with email, mapping and media.
To use the iPhone's WiFi feature just follow these steps.
Tap a network.
If you have not yet used your iPhone's WiFi or if you're in a new WiFi area, the iPhone will show you a list of available networks.
Tap the network that you want to connect to in order to connect.
If there is a password required a little lock icon appears.
Enter the password to connect to locked networks and continue to surf the web.
Monitor your signal.
As you use your iPhone, especially if you're moving around, you should take a look at the signal strength of the connection.
The strength is indicated by a small, black broadcast symbol that stacks arches, or rounded bars, on top of one another.
The more bars there are the better the signal.

Make connecting to WiFi automatic or manual.
The iPhone is equipped to automatically search for available networks and connect you to one.
If you do not want the phone to search for networks, select the "WiFi" option on the phone's menu.
Then select either the on or off option of the "Ask To Join Networks."
Turning this option off requires that you find networks manually.

Forget a network.
Once you connect to a WiFi network once the iPhone automatically remembers the network and connects you to it at a later opportunity.
To forget a network so you don't get automatically connected choose the "WiFi" option on the menu.
Then tap the right arrow button next to one of the networks that the iPhone already remembers. Then tap "Forget This Network" to erase the phone's memory of the network.

Troubleshoot Wi-Fi Connection Problems on an iPhone
If you experience Wi-Fi connectivity issues on your iPhone, you may need to reset the Wi-Fi connection.
Your connectivity issues could be caused by the wrong password if you are having trouble logging into the Wi-Fi network or from a problem in your iPhone's settings.
By resetting the Wi-Fi connection, you are clearing out the previous settings created when you first connected to the network.

Tap the Settings icon on the iPhone's home screen, and tap the Wi-Fi tab.
Swipe the switch on the Wi-Fi tab to ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on your iPhone.
Tap the blue arrow button on the network tab you are connected to in the network list, and tap "Forget this Network."
Tap the "Forget Network" button that appears on the pop-up menu to confirm the action.

Tap the Wi-Fi Networks tab in the upper-left corner to return to the previous screen, and tap the network's tab in the network list to re-join it.
Press the Home button on the iPhone, and tap the Safari icon on the home screen to test the Wi-Fi connection.
Tap the blue arrow icon on the network's tab if the connectivity problem persists, and tap the "Renew Lease" button at the bottom of the network's window.
Tap the "Renew Lease" button on the pop-up box to confirm the action.
Tap the Home button on the iPhone, and tap the Safari icon on the home screen to test the network connection.

I have a LG Thrill pay as you go and the internet doesn't work without WiFi, help me please!!

Hi. I just got an LG Motion and found this problem too. Go to the "other Apps" logo which is grey (on my phone) and shows 16 dots in a square. Scroll over to Google Chrome. This will be your browser. Add an icon for it to your main screens.
It should open right away. In Settings, the WiFi slide button should be BLUE. That means it is on.

Make sure you are fully charged and the glitch Power Saver doesn't come on (I think it shuts down Wifi).

DONT click "Easy WiFi" bc that just looks for a preexisting WiFi connection!!

Google Chrome!!!!

Good Luck.

I cannot connect my ipod touch to my router how do i connect it?

First you'll need to turn on your Wi-Fi.

1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then (turn WiFi on)
2. Set iPod touch to ask if you want to join a new network: Choose (WiFi) and turn (Ask to Join Networks) ON or OFF.

Then you'll need to join a WiFi network (your D-Link for instance)

1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then wait until your D-Link shows up in the list of networks.
2. Select your network and if you have a password for your router make sure you type it. (networks that require a password have a lock icon next to it) then tap (join)

Once you join a WiFi network manually, iPod touch will automatically connect to it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, iPod touch joins the one last used.

When iPod touch is connected to a WiFi network, the WiFi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen shows the connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.

Good Luck

Iphone wifi

You need to select the 'Settings' button on the home screen, then make sure that the 'Ask to Join Networks' option is turned on. Choose your network, and then enter in your password. I've had the same problem before, and it turned out that my phone wouldn't connect without setting the computer to require a password. If this doesn't solve your problem, please let us know.
