SOURCE: My goto telescope will not slew upwards.

I'm assuming the motor works fine. First check this link for the instructional video and check you are doing everything right. (you need quicktime to view these - you can download it from the link if you need it ; http://www.meade.com/educational/ds%20videos/qt_chap1.html Here is the link to the Meade warranty page; http://www.meade.com/support/warranties.html If your scope is no longer under warranty, you can get spares here; http://www.meade4m.com/4mshop/parts/ They have fabulous pictures of all the available parts - Check in the "mount parts" section; They show a DS worm gear assembly, and a DS gear and washer set. You can probably see better than me, but it looks as if the worm gear traverses the scope, and the gear and washers in their housing elevate the scope. There may be more than they show parts for. The real trick will be to make sure you know how to reassemble the gears you dismantle - take a photo every time you remove something so you have a record when the replacement parts arrive. It is not the most complicated gear mechanism, but it is reasonably high precision, and relatively cheap materials, so be very careful or get someone fairly gentle and mechanically minded. If you need help, post me some photos back of what you need help with, happy to oblige. Hope this helps:)

SOURCE: Sear's Refractoring telescope Parts

Most of the refractors sold by Sears were made by Towa of Japan. These used the Japanese standard .965" barrel diameter eyepieces. These are hardo come by today and usually not worth the hunt. Get an 1.25" to .965" "hybird" star diagonal that will permit the use of 1.25" accessories. Orion sells this item. HTH, Geo.

SOURCE: Just bought a Telescience 3088 telescope used.

You will not find a manual for many of the smaller telescope brands-- however Meade maintains a web site for all of their manuals. Go there and find one that is similar to your style of telescope and down load it for free. Then read it and compare with your telescope.

This is a small 60mm refractor a very simple telescope. Not much bigger than a pair of 10x50mm binoculars.

Objects in the night sky are very tiny and many are very dim. You must learn the night sky. Buy several good books like "turn Left at Orion", or "Nightwatch".

Looking for a manual for Orbitor 3500 telescope we were given this and we are need a manual so we can set it up and use it correctly

Here are the manuals:
http://www.citiwellint.com/manuals.htm

The manual will have assembly instructions but will NOT tell you how to use the scope to find those small -- dim objects in the night sky.

Buy two books:

Turn Left at Orion

and

Nightwatch

both are available on Amazon.com. Read my tips on my profile page.

You may be able to call Galileo telescopes and order the parts.

http://www.galileosplace.com/

If not and if the eyepiece is a 1.25 inch (measure the hole in the focuser), then you can buy eyepieces and weights from several different retailers on-line:

http://www.agenaastro.com/

http://www.optcorp.com/

The screw you can find at a well stocked hardware store.

I was given a Tasco 675 power reflector telescope model #40-114675, but didn't get an instruction book or dvd. I was able to find a star in the finder scope but couldn't see it through the eyepiece. it...

You must first ALIGN the finderscope with the main tube. Locate a bright object with the main telescope. Get it in the eyepiece- then without moving the telescope, align the finder scope on the same object.

Now you can use the finder like a gun site to center targets on the crosshairs. By the way the Fixya picture in your question always makes me laugh- the telescope in the picture is mounted BACKWARDS and pointed toward the ground!

I need to find a manual to assemble this telescope.

Meade has a web site with all of the manuals for their telescopes --- look around and find one that is similar in style to your telescope and use it to assemble your scope and learn about the different parts.
