42" craftsman mower deck belt 144200 to tight on the deck

42" craftmans mower deck belt 144200 is to tight on the deck. It is the right size for the model, the pulleys are fine, the blades are fine. Why would the same size belt be to tight this has always been the correct size. I even measured the belt to make sure it wasn't a factory mistake. Any suggestions?

What would cause a heavy vibration on my craftman riding mower, not caused from the deck, but by the v-drive belt for the tractor. i replaced it and without even putting the mower deck back on the vi

You did not finish the statement about without the blades but if your saying what I thing you are...Ah Oh Sounds like you may have a bent crank..Did you hit something with the blades...take the belt off and start the motor..and Check for wobble of the V drive there should be NONE if it does it could be bent itself or the crank...good luck

I have a craftsman riding lawn mower model 917258572. i just replaced the belt and it will not engage. i asked for a manual and someone did give me a link, but the page i think i need (22) would not...

First of all, did you get the correct belt, 144200? Do you have it routed right? The belt goes straight across the back between the two blade pulleys then to the inside of the two idler pulleys on each side in front of the blade spindles (pulleys), then to the engine. The smaller idler pulley on the left side is stationary, the one on the right swivels to tighten the belt when you engage the lever on the dash. That should give you something to check out. Good luck. Dwain
