Black box appears in middle of screen

Most a likely a problem with your Y-Sustain board which will then not drive the screen giving a black picture. The fuse on the board may be open circuit & need replaced but most likely you will need to have the sustain board replaced.

It sounds like your tv is in text mode for the captions. Try going into the menu, and go into captions, and set it to off. That should solve the problem. If not, do U have a cable box? If U do, try the same approach with the cable box B4 concluding it's something wrong with the tv.

I have a LG plasma T.V., model 42PB4D. Black box/middle of screen

Try this:

In the menu go to CC and set the TV to CC1 as this is a text box appearing for captions. Hope this works!

LG 42PC3D plasma television -- screen split down the middle

Our 42" LG picture is also split down the middle. It doesn't matter if it is cable or a DVD. I would love to know if anyone has found out the solution to this prob. The TV is only 3 years old...

Sound no picture

If you have the 3 RCA jack cables connected to the input jacks on the TV press input on the remote until the picture appears.

my 42" ilo plasma started going black on the outside to middle, now its totally black and no sound the power indicated lites for a min then the tv shuts off

Go into the menu and look at the closed caption option----if TEXT is highlighted--this is your problem---select CC! or if it has it OFF.The TEXT will only appear on certain channels and it most likely was activated by someone changing the closed caption options. If this has been helpful give me a vote to let me know.
