The backlight of my Sansa fuze is not working.

The backlight of my Sansa fuze appears to be not working. I can't see anything on the screen at all and the blue ring around the central button no longer lights up, but it will still play music when I can blindly find my way to the music menu. Is this fixable, or is there a loose wire or something?

SOURCE: SanDisk Sansa E250- Only the blue light comes on? HELP????????????

Try this: Switch your Sansa e250 to its Recovery Mode: 1. Make sure the player is powered off 2. Enable the "Hold" switch (located on the top of the player). You would know it's enabled when you see the "orange-colored" surface 3. Press the "Record" button. Make sure you keep it pressed while pressing on the "Menu" button. 4. keep your fingers pressed on these 2 buttons until the e250 LCD screen displays "Welcome to Recovery Mode" (if the LCD remains black, keep pressing long enough -- about 10 seconds -- then proceed to the next step) 5. Connect your e250 to your computer. (Just a reminder: The minimum Operating System requirements for a Sansa E200 player is Windows XP and above) 6. Double-click on "My Computer" and you would see your Sansa e250 appear as a "16 MB" drive. Note: If you do not see that "16 MB" drive/partition, please repeat steps 1-6. Next, Apply the firmware for the e250 (your player should be connected to your PC at this time): Step 1: Use this link to download the firmware for your Sansa e250 (for better results, please save this file on your "Desktop": http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downl... or use this Sansa Firmware Updater link: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376 Step 2: Double left-click on the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen prompts. The file will automatically re-flash your player (or find the most updated firmware) and format it as well, thereby clearing all possible file/system corruptions that may have occurred. Step 3: When the process is complete, unplug your e250 from your computer, and please make sure you disable the "Hold" switch Step 4: Power up your e250 and 90-99% of the time, it would boot up successfully. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: the screen is frozen and I cannot play music and i cannot find the reset button

If your Sansa Fuze MP3 player becomes frozen or unresponsive, you may need to reset the unit.
To do so, simply slide and hold the Power button on the side of the unit. Hold it for about 10 seconds and the player should reset.
If this does not work, I recommend plugging the device into a computer, or charger.

I recently purchased a Sansa Clip MP3. I downloaded audiobooks to it but they will not play. What do I need to do?

Not true!!! The Sansa Clip is actually the best mp3 player I have found for listing to audiobooks. Here is what you need to do. Download the latest firmware update on the Sandisk website. You must do this or it just won't work unless you are downloading books from Audible.

I use the Overdrive Media Console and download mp3 and WMA books from my state library. When you hit transfer, be sure it hit advanced options. Browse until you select the audiobook folder on your player. Then transfer to that.

The player will bookmark your last place on anything that is in your audiobook folder. You can easily switch back and forth between your music and book without losing your place! Love it!

It even has a sleep timer on it. I'm in heaven.

My Sansa Fuze 4gb wont turn on and isnt being recognized by my computer, iv also tried to soft reset it many times , nothing seems to work.. help plz..

I've had the same problem with my Sansa Fuze 2GB. It's pretty frustrating, but in order to get it to work, I let it sit without touching it or doing anything with it for a few days. For 2-5 days, do not turn on your Sansa Fuze. After the amount of time has passed, try the soft reset again.

My sansa screen went white

Try resetting the device by holding teh power switch in the ON position for about 15 seconds, then while it's OFF, slide the power switch DOWN to the HOLD position. Now for the tricky part, let's force a manual MSC connection. Press and hold the center button while plugging in to the USB port. Let us know if the screen lights, and the battery begins charging in this mode. If it's charging, let her charge for a while to give the battery a chance. Then, open a Windows Explorer window. I like to use [Windows key] + E, or go to My Computer. See if the Fuze appears under "devices with removable storage". If it's communicating, you have the options of formatting the device and reloading the firmware.

My Sandish Sanza ( 2gb) backlight screen is black

Reset All
NOTE: THIS IS AN ADVANCED OPERATION AND RESTORES ALL SETTINGS
TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS. NORMAL USERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION!
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.....
IF that doesn't work try to recover...download the update software and install then lock your sansa hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power button this will take you to recovery mode then connect to the computer Star the update software if it doesn't start automatic goto /start /all programs /Sandisk/sansa updater/ sansa updater and start it up manually... follow instructions on the updater and the sansa hope this works.... Difference between the origional sansa and the sansa fuze?

the sansa fuze is the best to get because it is less prone to scrathes, glitches, problems with the screen, ect. the sansa fuze also comes with free rapsidy for roughly 15 days. the sansa e200 series has quite a few problems. the screen on mine is busted T_T, so i have to buy a fuze. My friend has a fuze and hes had i for 4 years. it still work great. just dont drop it from heights of over 40 feet and even then it will still probabilly work.

Best Of Luck Trying to find a sansa. P.S i wouldn't go with an ipod, they get brocken to easily trust me i would know.

Sandisk "fuze" mp3, plays but the screen is blank.... yes would be covered by warranty

is it still covered by warranty? do you see anything on the screen for example if you place it under a lamp, do you see anything on the screen? that would mean the backlight is faulty.

you may have a faulty backlight or loose connector. If you got warranty that will cover the fix.
