Ceramic cook top popping up

The L indicates that the child lock feature has been enabled. This ensures that the burners do not function while you clean the cook top and that a child can't turn on any burners.

The procedure depends on your cook top model. For some induction models, to toggle the child lock feature off, press the front right burner zone display and the booster function key (circle with a solid circle inside on the right of the selector zone) simultaneously. Then press the front right burner zone display again until the L disappears from the display.

For an electric ceramic cooktop DTCH808, to turn off the child lock completely, press the bottom right + in a circle and the - in a circle (in the center surrounded by 4 of the + in a circle areas) simultaneously and then release the keys. you will have to remove top and find short . it sounds like a burner of melted wiring. .. also ck the swithces for dark connections as the could be the cause. mm

There is nothing available to recoat your cooktop. The pattern is applied when the ceramic is in a liquid state.

In case anyone else encounters this problem here's what
worked for me. I had this happen last night and came here
searching for answers. It did not unloosen on it's own
after being left overnight. Finally this morning I came up
with something that worked for me. Shoot the lid all
around with a hairdryer and use a towel to keep seeing if
it has loosened up enough to move. After a few miuntes of
spraying it with the heat it stared sliding around and then
came up.

1) turn off power at the breaker. 2) remove hold down screws 3) pop up cooktop out of counter top 4) remove knobs and downdraft grille 5) remove ceramic top (screws around outside and also in side grille opening) 6) unplug burners replace with new burner

much beter to call an technician coz the glass ceramic is no warnaty,if u get wrong instalation or broke the glass u waste ur money,call the person have an expertise for that.dont try to fix by it ur self.coz if the technician fix it,u get an assurance for the waranty if may happen during instalation.

take knob off and check the middle is not split and hence not turning the shaft
