this probably cannot be replaced as the tv firmware is programmed to utilise it. You might have to write code and flash the tv firmware to make another device function in its place. I think it is probably impractical rather than impossible to do...

1. Turn on the TV
NOTE: Please read steps 2 to 4 completely before proceeding. Highlight or write down the codes and device you wish to program before moving on to step 2.
2. Press and hold SETuntil the Red Light blinks twice, then release SET.
3. Locate the code for your device in Manufacturer's Codes on the back of this user guide. Brands are listed in alphabetical order with the most popular codes listed first.
4. Enter the first five-digit code for your TV. If you perform this procedure correctly, the Red Light will blink twice
NOTE: If you enter an invalid code, the red light will display one long blink and exit the programming mode. Repeat steps 2 to 5 with a valid code.
5. Aim the remote control at your TV and press Power once. The device should turn off. If it does not respond, repeat steps 2 to 4, trying each code listed for your brand until you find one that works. If it still does not work, try Searching For Your Code.

1) check the RCA cable connection from your DVD to TV screen.
make sure that each cable is in the right place (for DVD player yellow cable = video/ red and white cable = audio) (TV screen: yellow cable = video IN /white and red = audio IN

2) from your TV screen locate and check for A/V IN socket. it's either at the back/front or side of the screen.

note: some of TV screen does have 2 A/V inputs

3) Facing the front of your TV screen, locate a button indicating "A/V" or "AV" or a box picture having a forward arrow inside.

note: if you locate the said button and your screen have 2 A/V inputs press the said button until the right input where you connect your dvd cable been set.

The IR "bug" provided with the Bose 18/28/38/48 models is an IR emitter which sends out IR control codes to another component. The system is designed to have the Bose remote control be used to control the TV and the dish box. The Bose media center has a strong IR blaster in the front which will flood your room with the IR codes to control your TV or Dish box. The TV sensing device must be placed at a location on the TV where specific voltages can be detected. The location will vary depending on display type you have - plasma, LCD, tube or rear projection.
