I have a HL67A750A1FXZA Samsung projector tv w/ white spots. I found a HLS5086WX/XAA that shuts itself off. Can I swap the DLP chip from the 50in to the 70in? DLPs are different P/Ns. TVs were free.

There is nothing you have to look at to fix this. What did you think? Replacing a DLP chip and to make adjustments to it is very like to eat a banana?
Contact any well experienced service technician or leave it away for ever. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Not clear if set makes it on or not---its a DLP which uses a lamp for brightness so start there and next would be to inspect the color wheel that faces it directly--no broken or missing pieces there?
The DLP chip is failing and must be replaced. You can call 1-800-samsung to find out if this is covered under any special warranty and to find the nearest service center.
sound like you have a bad dlp chip. this happens to a lot of samsung dlp tvs. some of the mirrors are stuck. they can appear as black dots or white dots and it usually gets worse over time.
Random dots or pixels failing on a DLP TV will be a bad DMD chip. This is a technician replace item only. The chip runs around 160 dollars list price. The part number will depend on which version the set uses and will be determined by the technician.
