The printer has been working for the last 3 years. This paper jam problem just occurred. The drivers have not been updated. I've blown out the inside with air to remove any dust. I'll try re-installing the software

Has the printer ever worked or is this just something that has just happened and printer was fully working prior tothis?have you tried restarting the PC? If yes have you trieds uninstalling the software then reinstalling again? Have you recently updated a driver?(check in the 'set program access and default' section via the start menu, click add or remove programmes and tick the 'see update' box). If the driver has been updated recently it will show up and you can simply revert back to the previous driver if that one worked. hope some of this helps

While you are trying to print important documents from your computer using your HP printer, is there any error showing “Driver Is Unavailable”?
Unavailability of Drivers is a common issue now that is reported by several HP Printer users around the globe. But this seriously needs to be fixed now.

Here are few instructions on how to clear the paper jam on your printer.

How to Clear a Paper Jam on an HP Inkjet Printer 1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer before you begin. With the power disconnected, you will protect yourself from being shocked. This is an important step when you are fixing any type of electronic device.
2. Move your printer so that you'll have access the back panel. Unhinge the back access panel of the printer.
3. Look for paper through the opened back panel. Remove any paper you find jammed.
4. Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches into place and looks the same way it did before you opened it.
5. Open the front or top access panel. This is the panel you use to access ink cartridges. If the carriage that holds the ink cartridges moves, then you forgot to unplug the printer. Go back and do that now. Look for paper that may be jammed in this area of the printer.
6. Remove any paper you find jammed here. There will be resistance from the paper feeder, so pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a more serious problem.
7. Close the front access panel. Make sure that it latches back into place.
8. Plug the printer in and attempt to print again. If you can print successfully, you have removed the paper jam.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have cleared the genuine paper jam as per

Got wife involved (I'm partially sighted).
She said "I don't know if it's relevant, but you've got a bit of paper stuck on one of those wheely thingies." (she's always been a bit too technical for me!).
Out came the tweezers, out came the chad, and onwards marched the printer!
Thanks to all concerned....

Why do i have a false jam reading?

I understand that you're receiving what you believe to be a 'false' paper jam on your HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One Printer. I would like to work with you today with resolving this issue. Paper jams can be real or false. The product might report a paper jam even when there is no jammed paper. A false paper jam may also be the result of having a bad paper jam at a point in time and that bad jam causing a hardware issue to the paper sensor or rollers. I am going to provide you with some additional troubleshooting steps that apply to both real and false paper jams. You did state that you already checked the paper pathway inside the printer and failed to find any evidence of paper being stuck, but please run the step-by-step troubleshooting below, even if you have already run some of the steps.

Here are the steps for clearing the path:

As soon as I started using recycled ink cartridges, I started getting a paper jam error on my printer. The control panel message instructs me to remove the back panel and clear paper jam. I've done this several times but there is no paper to clear and the message keeps coming back. I've tried turning of the printer and unplugging it to clear the memory, but that doesn't help. Could it be that the chip on the ink cartridge is messing with the printer's operating system?

My photosmart 2575 jams everytime paper is loaded. I've cleared the jam, and made sure there is no paper stuck, but it loads 1/2 a new sheet then stops and says there is a paper jam. Anyone know how to fix...

it might be the problem with the rollers which is trying to garba teh paper ... try to clean the rollers at the back of the printer with a dry cloth ... if still you face problem its better to get the printer exchanged with an upgrade model by calling 1-800-HPINVENT

I have a 'paper jam error' displayed on my HP PhotoSmart 2575 printer screen which I cannot clear, even after removing the paper and pressing OK. In addition, I have reloaded software and this has been...

A few things to check would be to open your printer and make sure there are no little ripped pieces of paper in the system which could be causing it to keep faulting. Also try unplugging it while its powered on and let it sit for 8-10 minutes and see if that doesn't reset it. Hope this helps let me know if more trouble shooting is necessary.

Clearing paper jam

Solution Use the following instructions to clear a paper jam from the HP All-in-One.
  1. Press in the tab on the rear clean-out door to remove the door. CAUTION: Clearing a paper jam from the top or front of the HP All-in-One can damage the print mechanism. Whenever possible, access and clear paper jams through the rear clean-out door. Figure 1: Pressing the tab and opening the rear clean-out door c00444711.gif
  2. Gently pull the paper out of the rollers. CAUTION: If the paper tears when you are removing it from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the HP All-in-One. If you do not remove all the pieces of paper from the HP All-in-One, more paper jams are might occur.
  3. Replace the rear clean-out door and gently push it forward until it snaps into place.
  4. On the HP All-in-One control panel, press OK to continue the current job. NOTE: If the paper is still jammed, see the onscreen Troubleshooting Help that came with the HP Image Zone software.
  5. If the jam occurs again, check to make sure the paper type in the printer matches the paper type set in the printer driver properties

2575 paper jam

This worked for me. If "Paper Jam" error message continues to appear after jam has been cleared, turn off power to printer. Navigate to Control Panel - Printers, right click on HP Photosmart 2570 series icon, click on Delete on drop down menu. This deletes printer from your system. Turn on power to printer. Printer will re-install (may need original installation disc, may not). "Paper Jam" error message should no longer appear.
