SOURCE: Electronic Display

Further inspection found that the ribbon got damaged during the re-instalation of the clock board. A new front control board had to be ordered and installed.

We have an approximately 12 year old Jenn-Air downdraft range JDS9860AAP. Serial #22175370GJ. The oven & control panel is shutting off intermittently. Error code F0-0 appeared once.

F0 is usually a stuck keypad button. Sometimes it's a problem with the wiring between the electronic oven control board and the keypad. With this model, it looks like the keypad and control board are sold as a single unit . See https://www.jennairreplacementparts.com/Shop-For-Parts/a13b103d563627/Model-JDS9860AAP-Jenn-Air-Range-Stove-Oven-Parts . You need the series 17 and later control board and timer, WP5760M302-60 . This part is roughly $400 from most vendors. https://www.partselect.com/Models/JDS9860AAP/Sections/CONTROL-PANEL-TOP-ASSEMBLY-AAP/?ModelID=91339&ModelNum=JDS9860AAP&mfgModelNum=&ManufactureID=1&Selected=53345&Position=3&mfg=Maytag&Type=Range&Mark=3 is another source.

I hope this helps.

F2 code

Hi, F2 code on the Kenmore indicates a problem with either of the control board and the user interface board. Run the console and indicators diagnostic test mode to find out.

Console and Indicators Diagnostic Test Mode Activation
  1. While in standby mode press the following button sequence within four seconds: SOIL LEVEL>WASH RINSE TEMP>SOIL LEVEL>WASH RINSE TEMP
  2. Press START within five seconds when "dt" shows on the display. All indicators in display are lit and "88" is displayed.
  3. Press START again. The two-digit display and the status indicators turn off while all other indicators remain lit.
  4. Press START again. The two-digit display and the status indicators turn on while all other indicators remain lit.
  5. Rotate the WASH CYCLE selector back and forth. The indicators will switch on an off.
  6. Press the buttons to check the functions. The indicators switch on and off and a beeping sound will be heard when a button is pressed.
  7. Press STOP or POWER button to exit diagnostic test mode.
  8. If no indicators light up or if no beeping sound is heard when a button is pressed or if some buttons do not light up indicators when pressed, check the control board, the user interface board, and the connection between them.
  • Unplug the machine.
  • Remove the three screws on the back of the console.
  • Lift the console off the cabinet.
  • The control board is located on the right side of the console viewed from the front of the machine. Disconnect the middle wiring harness connector on the right side of the control board near the pressure transducer hose.
  • Clean the connector and the terminals thoroughly with brush and alcohol.
  • Reconnect and disconnect the connector several times.
  • Reinstall the console and reconnect power.
  • If the problem is not resolved, replace the user interface board.
  • If the problem is still not resolved with the replacement of the user interface board, replace the control board. You may also replace both board at the same time and keep the old good board as a spare.
Take care

Display shows E0 F2 after pressing start and cancel at same time. No other buttons work. Stovetop still works.

F2-E0 - Shorted Touch Pad (Keypad) - Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

Clock display won't stay lit

Same thing happened to our Kenmore range and I found a solution on the web about fixing this problem on a fridgedaire range. It was to hold down the clock button for an extended time ~15 sec. It worked for our kenmore and hopefully for yours too.

My oven is giving me an error of E6 F2, what does that mean

Hi,

Equipment is Whirlpool double oven RBD305PDS14 built-in. After a very stormy summer 2007, I thought a power surge may have zapped the control board. Problem initially presented on display as error & fault "E6 F2"; simply pressing "Timer Off" would usually clear this error & fault code.

However, some months later, the display would often go completely blank followed by the beep sequence "short-long-short-short-short" (Morse code: dit dah dit dit dit). No error & fault code would appear. Pressing any keypad oven control did not work at all in this condition. When power was cycled at the breaker panel, the usual "PF" with clock display did not appear.

[TURN OVEN POWER OFF AT BREAKER!!!]

After following the excellent information on "how to remove the control panel" posted in this forum, I first tested the "control panel thermal fuse" (refer to the tech sheet that should be behind the control panel once it is removed). It showed a closed circuit.

I turned my attention to the "flexible" keypad connector cable (error & fault code "E6 F2" is a keypad or keypad connector problem; again, refer to tech sheet). The control panel has a board mounted female connector with two tabs that may be gently pulled upward to release the flexible cable.

I cleaned the flexible cable contact area (it seats into the board mounted female connector) carefully with a Q tip and some isopropyl alcohol. I reinserted the flexible cable and gently pressed down on the two tabs (noted above) on the board mounted female connector. VERY GENTLY tug on the flexible cable to insure it is gripped by the connector.

After all of this monkey business, I re-mounted the control panel display panel on the oven and restored power. So far, so good. After applying power, the "PF" with clock display always appears. I am able to set the clock and press "Start". Over functions normally. The clock displays as normal and I no longer observe the problem I described above.

BTW, I noted the incoming 240V has transient suppression (no surge protection, however

Cannot set time and Oven will not operate

Depending on the make of oven, you have to press the buttons in a certain sequence if it is a digital one, try pressing the buttons in sequence, sometimes you have to press 2 together, and a third one at the same time,if it is a anologue timer, then make sure you can see the symbol of a hand in the display.
If you cannot get the timer of auto, then it is probably faulty.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Press the HR or MIN "up" or "down" arrow pads to set the time of day. 3. Press CLOCK or START/ENTER. To Disable: The clock time can be disabled so that it does not show on the display.
