SOURCE: Panasonic DVD player

The problem with your unit is the "Spindle Motor", this motor is the one that spins the disc so the laser can read it. I sugest you to take your player to a shop, or back for service if the unit still under manufacturer warranty.

Dvd rv32 keeps saying hot and wolnt play dvds

I think you mean the front display shows 'H07' which means the laser/spindle motor assembly (as one part - also known as a traverse unit) has failed. H07 is a common error code with the Panasonic series of DVD playback decks. Because the traverse unit is a multi-operation device, and because the player is a budget model, the repair/replacement of this part to restore your player back to fully functional condition as well as labour costs could prove expensive - hardly worthwhile. It seems Panasonic have been using substandard components within their products for years now, designed to fail just outside their minimum warranty period.

My dvd player says no disc, with a disc in it , what does that mean?

Means it cant read the disk.
Either disk is faulty or your heads need cleaning or you have inserted a type of disk it cannot read ie a rewritable one.

We have a Panasonic DVD-LX97 which is displaying this error message "Error HO3". What does this mean and can it be cost-effectively repaired? Thank you.

THE ERROR MESSAGE IS.
"YOU ARE TRYING TO CHARGE THE UNIT IN TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE OF THE UNITS NORMAL WORKING RANGE.
either too hot or cold.
try experimenting by cooling the player if its warm where you are or warming it if its cold.
if it still doesnt work when the player is in normal room temperature ( ie 10 degrees celsius to 24 degrees celcius) then the internal thermal trip is faulty and needs resetting ( a board change i would think)
not worth the time and expense for a discontinued player .
ps heres a link to the manual online

DVD player cuts out during movie

I have had this problem after 1 year of use. I called Panasonic to tell them the issue and they said it is beyond the warranty so they are not willing to do anything about it. I know they know this is a known defect and they are not doing anything to help their customers who paid good money on their system. Lesson learned... next time pay a little more and go with SONY!!!

Troubleshooting -- Displays H07 code

While stopped, press and hold REWIND and PAUSE on the unit and then also press and hold OPEN/CLOSE on the unit until Initialized appears from the display. Turn the unit off and on again. If it is still not working, Panasonic Consumer Support recommends having the product checked by an authorized Panasonic service center.
