Have you tried any non-blockbuster discs with similar results?
Either the lens is dirty (don't go buy one of those cleaners -- they don't work as advertised), or the DVD drive in the unit is bad or rapidly headed that way.

I am just wondering whether the unit has got condensation inside.
Just try to do this as a process of elimination.
Take the dvd and place in a warm room.Plug it into the mains (try and eject disc if not leave in) and leave for 2-3 hrs
Give it another try..fingers crossed.

The issue we have in these units are the eject mech goes bad so you going to have to replace the mech. A mech cost like $150 respectivly it includes the whole laser in fact ig to a picture of a mech for you.
EASY FIX UHH not quite. This is involved and if your not prepared I would allow www.videogamerepair.com do the job for you. As a matter of fact they are professionals and do it for way under warranty or out of warranty repair cost charges.
Good luck with the situation there are youtube fixes as well but again if your not in that area of expertise leave it to the experts.
