Go to... http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action Enter the model number that is under the seat. If it's a lawn tractor, it will start with 917. That will get you to all the diagrams of the mower.

Loosen the sheaves (pulleys) and belt guides. The inside of belt will
go on back side of each of th 2 blade pulleys. On the discharge side it
will come around to the back side of smaller pulley. On left side it
will come to back side of the foward pulley. Then it will go around the
jacksheave on the engine shaft. Just remember, th notched side or
inside of belt will always go to the v side of pulley and the back side
or flat side of belt will go to the flat pulleys.

I believe this is one of the Scotts mowers made by John Deere. Deere has a parts website that you can access. You enter the model number of your mower, and it then lists the various sections of the mower. It shows diagrams of all the various parts. The drive belt would be shown in one of these diagrams. You can probably figure out the configuration by looking at these illustrations.
A second possibility is to check out www.mytractorforum.com. Join up (it's free), and ask your question. Someone on there has probably done this belt replacement and can either guide you through it or send you a diagram.
