To normalize (automatic leveling) you MUST have a recording loaded AND selected. You cannot normalize the whole folder of recordings so they don't offer up that option.
Right click on the desktop selecting properties. Click the desktop tab, and on the lower right, click customize. This will give you a list of icons that can be set to the desktop. Simply click the box for "My Computer" and click apply. The icon will now be on your desktop;

it wont work as supposed to because you have added other non HP software related to CAM, and they are in conflict.
remove that conflicting software
or do a HP OS refresh. using HP restore.
This is because your spooler service has stopped on the PC.
If you have Win XP, click on start and click on Run.
Type services.msc and click Ok.
From the list, scroll down to Print Spooler.
Right click on this and click on Start or Restart.
Check if you have icon back or not.
