SOURCE: Evaporator fan did not start running when condenser fan started.

I don't know why there would be much of a delay between the condenser and evaporator fans coming on. If you have diagnosed it as a bad motor, that's probably correct.

But the motor could just need cleaning and lubricating

SOURCE: evaporators fans will not come on in my coldtech freezer..help!!

They work on a temperature switch, when the evaperator gets cold enough the switch closes and the fans will come on. They will also turn off during defrost so the product. Does not melt. If they never come on and the coil is icing up I would look at the switch as being faulty. It will be located on the piping on the side of the evaperator. Replace the switch and problems solved. Good luck

True 49f fans stopped running. Compressor still runs. Fixes? Troubleshooting steps?

I am assuming you are relating to the evaporator fan(s) not running. If this is the case, some units have a 'Klixon" type thermostat in the evaporator so when the evaporator coil temp reaches a predetermined temperature, the fans come on. You may have a bad "Fan Delay" (Klixon) or the coil is not reaching the proper temp to activate it to turn on the fans. I would check the wiring diagram on the unit for this part to see if this unit has it in the system.

Delay on evap. fan sistm.404a

Give the evaporator a chance to get cold, then check you've got power to the fan, via the evaporator thermistor and door switch

My freezer has power, but the fans are not going on when the door shuts and the temperature is rising.

The defrost termination/ fan delay control is a temperature-activated, single pole-double throw switch. ).
The control is wired into the refrigeration circuit. The control is located high on the evaporator where the frost is likely to clear last. The function of this temperature-activated switch is to terminate defrost when the evaporator coil has been defrosted, and to delay the evaporator fans from coming on immediately after defrost.
The coil must reach a temperature of 25* F. for the fan delay to close allowing the fans to operate.bobicehouse_38.jpg

I have a masterbuilt commerical display freezer. I had it off for a while. Does it have a reset button to turn the fans back on?

with out a model and serial number to go on, I can tell you that most all of their units have what is called a "Fan Delay" located in the evaporator coil. It keeps the fan off on the evap. to prevent them from circulating warm air and overloading the compressor. In most cases, when the evap. reaches about 20 to 26 degrees, the delay will bring the fans on and will start cooling the conditioned space.
Hope this helps.

We have a True TS-49F freezer that the interior fan have stopped working. Holding the door switch does not activate them. Unit is out of warranty.

Most all commercial freezers like yours have, what is called, a fan delay. It is located in the evaporator case and is usually attached on or very close to the actual cooling coil. It may also be a combination switch known as a defrost terminator/ fan delay. It's purpose is to keep from circulating warm air. If the cooling coil does not reach a preset temp, the fans do not come one. Another thing is that the fan motor may just be bad. If you have more than one fan, then chances are that it's going to be the fan delay. I would start there to see that either the fan delay switch is bad or there is a reason that the coil is not getting cold enough to activate the switch.

Victory freezer VR1 evaporator motor will not run, does not have voltage to it. Fan delay switch checks ok....HELP!!!

Check to be sure the door switch is working. It turns the fan off when you open the door and turns the light on. Also the defrost time has a connection to the inside fan. Check to see that your defrost timer is turning on and off at the right times. If the evaporator coils don't get down to 20 degress the clicks-on fan controller won't switch on. If that is the case you may be low on refrigerant.

Evaporator fans do not come on, why would evaporator is not cool enough?

There are three main reasons the fans would not come on.
1: A bad door switch. There are switches on the top part of door frame. They turn fans off when door is opened to prevent warm air from being drawn into unit when door is open. If a switch goes bad the fans will never turn on.
2: Refrigeration problem. The fans are tied into a temperature switch called a fan delay. The fans will not come on until the coil is well below freezing. This is to prevent water spray after a defrost. If unit is low on gas or has any other cooling issue the fans will not come on.
3: Bad fan delay switch. If the fan delay switch becomes "stuck open" the fans will not be energized.

Feel the back of your evaporator coil, if it is very cold and frosted you probably have a bad fan switch, or a bad door switch. ;)
