You need a special tool (in my manual it calls for radio removal tool 3316). You might need to call VW for the tool. Or, call/go to your local auto shop and see if they have the tool. Let me know if you like me to send you an image of the tool. Also, I know you think your car is a polo; But it's actually a GTI. Add a comment if you have any other questions for me.

no it cant, i have the same thing and have been down that path. it requires navigation DVD's of NZ maps which are proprietary to that japanese gps system and they do not exist
