Sounds like the printer is dropping network connection. You do not state the brand and model so I cannot give you specfics. This is often caused by a failing network card or formatter if the network card is onboard.
try saving document to desktop then print it. Sometimes there is info in pdf you don't see. I have had customers that have this type problem and after they save it prints just fine.
Hope you have a printer controller type 270 installed on your Aficio 220, already.
It can be connected with a parallel cable or ethernet cable if you have a network card installed in the printer controller of the Aficio 220.
