Do you have a model number and brand? Chances are the manual would have an explanation of the beeps
Thanks for your comment. I took it apart and found that the motor had overheated and melted the plastic motor mount and allowed the motor to move away from the gear on the head so they were disengaged. Also the lower bearing in the motor is worn out. It is a LST140 model. This model is not built for large continuous use trimming jobs. Just shows you get what you pay for. To buy a new motor and housing, since it melted also, would cost more than trimmer cost new. Not sure where the beeping sound was coming from. It is now trashed.

SOURCE: troy built weed eater won't feed line
Check the size of the line,(OD), make sure you are using the correct size, sometimes cheap line will be problematic, also, you said you are re-stringing it, try a new batch of string, the old string inside the hub can get chaffed and will stick to itself...
SOURCE: Can't get weed eater started. Have an older weed
This is a common problem on older Poulan models. Press the primer button 10 times and pull the starter rope twice, then pull the spark plug and examine it. If the plug is wet that means gas is definitely getting to the combustion chamber. Next thing is to use a compression tester. If you do not have a compression tester but have an AutoZone anywhere near you, you can get a loaner from them. Screw the compression tester into the plug hole and pull the start rope 4 times. If the tester reads anything below 90psi, you have a bad ring and will have to take the motor apart to clean the piston and ring or replace the ring.
Keep me posted on what you find, ok? I can walk you through the procedure to replace the ring if necessary. Good Luck!

SOURCE: want to remove huscavana weed eater head
You should find a hole in the piece just above the trimmer head, this should line up with another hole deeper in the area. You stick a piece of rod in there to keep the head from turning. Use some pb blaster penetrating oil to help loosen up the head.
