Hello. I have a samsung tv model un48ju6500f. There is no image but if I shine a light on screen I can see static. I also hear a clicking noise if I raise volume or channel up. Standby light is blinking 5 times then it goes completely of until I press any button. Do you think that this is something you can walk me through to troubleshoot and repair myself? Thank you.

Did you get this solved yet? Six blinks usuall meand thermal fuse. I can look it up if you still need help.

this is the same type of problem happening with other rca models and I know it is the EPROM CHIP but why this is failing is either because of design flaw , dirty enviroment that they were made in , to much voltage or current to the chip or too much of a draw from the chip causing it to fail . Or even a random frequency from the IR sensor or its circut I'm still investigating and testing.
leave the tv unplugged for at least 3 weeks durring this time resolder any solder that don't look good , I did this and it lasted for about 6 months(always plugged in to the wall) before it started doing it again. model # 27v412t

Plasma tvs do not have "back lights" LCDs do. you probably have a bad driver board along with the upper or lower buffer board or maybe both, best to have a tv shop look at it.
