Smart Label Printer 240

All of a sudden my label maker decided not to print at the beginning of the label. It positions itself at 3/4 of it and I find myself wasting a label everytime. I've partly taken it apart and I cannot find any label stuck inside.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Geneviève

All of a sudden my Seiko Smart Label Printer decided not to print at the beginning of the label. I'll have a 4-line address, but it doesn't print the first 2 lines, starts printing the 3rd line. I've checked all of the settings against another label printer at another desk and all of the settings match. I've rebooted and unplugged, etc. Nothing helps. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Jeannie

SII Smart Label Printer 440. Just sits and won't do anything or does one and no more. Today it's asking how will it be connected to this computer? It's never worked consistently since I got the Windows 7.

Check your labels. Are there black "sensor marks" on the back of each label? That's apparently how the printer lines itself up.

Start with unplugging it and rebooting pc to see if it will reset itself

What in the world!! I have the Smart Label Printer 450, it is not advancing the label, and the power button is flashing. It will not print a label at all at this point, and when it will end up printing a...

Unfortunately, this is usually an indication that the label roll in the printer are too old. This action is by design, compatible labels should have a black rectangle on the reverse side and the Smart Label printer uses the black rectangle to orient the label. This means your Smart Label doesn't think its wasting labels, it's just trying to run through what it considers to be unsuitable labels as fast as it can. If you're only printing one label at a time you can recover some labels by correctly the label's line up after each label you print but there's nothing you can do so that your printer will properly advance its current labels.

Remove the current roll, open a new boxed label roll, remove a sealed roll, cut open the sealed plastic, remove fresh label roll and load it in your Label Printer. Power the label printer back on and press the label advance button, it should correctly line up.

If the answers above don't work check your AC adapter with a multimeter to confirm its output voltage. If the voltage is off by more than 1 volt you will need to replace your network driver

After each label I print the printer automatically advances 3/4 of the way through the next label. Is there a setting to stop at the end of each label?

I don't know the particulat incantations for this printer, but it sounds like the "form length" or "label length" is not set correctly. Normally the printer will advance to the beginning of the next label once the printing is complete. Check the menu or setup program for the label length.

Let me know if you can not find this and I'll research the exact commands.

Thanks,
Dan

Too much tape

Hi, it seem your label maker is set to the last(amount) of labels printed. Go to: Print Labels, click; Number of Labels; clear to set to (1) Label. That should stop the run off of labels. Thanks paul70f9

Label not advancing to tear-off perforation

Try this to have the printer auto-sense the size of the labels:
1. Make sure that printer power is off.
2. Press and hold the feed button.
3. Turn printer power on.
4. When the status light blinks, release
the feed button.
5. The printer advances the media to
measure and verify the length of
individual labels or tags. The printer
then prints a status summary and
remains in diagnostic dump mode.
6. To begin normal operation, tap the
feed button. The printer prints "out of
DUMP" and advances a label.
