Try unplugging it for 15 to 30 minutes and try again. Mine did this last year and unplugging it got it working again. I had to reconfigure the settings again.

Here are steps to connect a Samsung soundbar to a Sanyo FVM3982 TV using an optical cable:
Locate the Optical Out port on the back of the Sanyo TV. This port will be labeled "Optical Out" and is usually covered by a small protective cap.
Remove the protective cap from the Optical Out port and plug in one end of the optical cable.
Connect the other end of the optical cable to the Optical In port on the Samsung soundbar. This port may be labeled "Optical In" or "Toslink".
Turn on both the TV and the soundbar.
On the Sanyo TV, use the remote to navigate to the audio settings. Look for an option to set the audio output to "External Speakers", "External Audio", or "Optical Out". Select this option.
Adjust the volume on the Samsung soundbar using its remote control.
Once these steps are completed, the sound from the TV should be played through the Samsung soundbar. If you encounter any issues or don't hear any sound, check to make sure that the soundbar is set to the correct input and that the volume is turned up. Because your TV is not Bluetooth-enabled and you are trying to connect it to a Bluetooth-enabled soundbar via Bluetooth. There are other ways to connect your TV to the soundbar:
1. analog AUDIO OUT (L/R) of your TV to the AUX IN on the soundbar (use a 3.5 mm.-to-RCA audio cable).
2. Optical OUT on your TV to Optical IN on the soundbar.
3. HDMI port to HDMI port (this may not work if your TV is not ARC compliant you have to try).
You get better sound quality with option 2.or 3. (if this one works for your TV)
