SOURCE: tape gets tangled in rca recorder

Your take up spool or the pinch roller on the deck mechanism is probably not turning & causing the tape to spill into the deck. The cause of this could either be the motor is not turning the pinch roller if a belt has snapped or the clutch mechanism is not engaging the take up spool. If you remove the top cover & take a look at the tape when it is in play or rewind mode you will see if it spills on the right hand side, look to see in the right spool in the cassette tape is turning. The remedy would be to remove the deck mechanism & check the gears or belts.

SOURCE: The plastic piece inside the cd player door is broken so it won't play cds. Can this be fixed or rigged?

If the piece can be found then you can use SUPERGLUE to fix it in place. Use a thin metal strip wire to reinforce the stub and also using the glue to stick it well. Use a soft filer to clear the dried glue.or use a emery paper to make it fine.

When i put in a tape, i get a squeeling sound, and the tape won't play.

The only way is to take the top off and watch what the tape is doing! You might even see some object inside which should not be there!

Vhs is stuck in machine. Won't play and won't eject.

There are any number of reasons why it won't play. The loading basket is jammed, the video tape has got tangled up in the mechanical section of the vcr or the loading gears are stripped. Unplug machine and remove top, [screws side and back] if the tape is spewed carefully remove by cutting it and clean tape particles, for any other problem have a technician check it out.

Vhs tape stuck in vcr

Some one needs to open it to see if the tape is loaded but wrapped around a post or tangled up.

What usually causes this is the mechanism that moves the tape has a problem---bad or broken belt or rubber drive wheel that moves tape is bad.

Its called eating tapes.

With it apart you may be able to extract the tape and then insert with it apart to see if reels etc are or are not moving in RR and FF first and then in play to see what is not moving.

Canon zr700 won't play tape

That is the pinch roller. If it does not press the tape against the capstan, then the tape will not pass the read/write heads. Replace it.

Dropped it and broke case

When I dropped my 35 year 0ld 8200N, I cracked a large piece out of the case above the grip. I used a steel filled epoxy called JB Weld to join the pieces. It is a two part epoxy that cures in 24 hours. Make a mold using masking tape to fill in missing pieces. The epoxy is runny at first, it will thicken in about 6 hours. This compound will fix about any thing and can be drilled and tapped like plastic. It will even adhere to the 8200N case material. The usual clear epoxies won't hold up.

Horizontal green bars whenever I play my tape!

I've had a similar problem that I've solved using a head cleaner. I think it was about $20 at Target and is good for 30 cleanings.
