Wonderwall projector has black spot in middle of screen

Wonderwall projector plays fine for about 3 minutes before a black spot begins to appear and grow larger. What's going on?

The spot does go away each time the machine is turned off, cools down, and is turned back on. The spot begins as a dark patch and then becomes a larger and larger dark black circular spot. There is a faint ring around the edges of the spot. The spot is solid black and not pixelated. It almost appears that there is something on the lens blocking the image, but there is not. The spot is not in the center. It appears slightly to the upper left side of the projected image.

does the spot go away and restart every time you turn it on, or has it happened once and is permenant? is the spot circular? is it in the middle of the screen or off center? is it dark black or translucent? is it pixelated or blends at the edges? let me know so i can fully understand the situation and be able to help you better.

When projector comes up with a growing spot black there is no two ways to it. it is overheating. your cooling fan may be rolling but trust me is not cooling it. Solution: Replace the cooling fan if possible a higher speed and it will never repeat itself. 100% banker

Tranlucent dark spot on Optoma image. Looks like something is on the lens.Off center--top to bottom. Cleaned lens, blew out case, changed bulb, still with dark spot.

My guess is that you have the projector flat on something? I did that and got the spot right away. The directions says NOT to lay flat, you must use the arm/handle so it will not overheat. Next time you get the spot pick the projector up and it should go away in about 10 seconds. It is overheating. Use the arm/handle, if you need it to sit level place a wii game or something similar size in the back to level it out.

Yes it is true the projector needs to "breathe" so no you cant lay it flat you must elevate it using the silver handle. The spot will go away, speaking from experience!!!

We just bought an ANDROID Projector. It has the same black spot. We took it out of the box, plugged it in, and turned it on. It worked good for a couple minutes then started to get the black spot in the middle of the screen that got larger and larger until it covered most of the screen. We turned it off for about 5 minutes. Then everytime we turn it on now it gets the black spot after a few seconds of running. It wasn't laying flat so it had good ventilation. It doesn't have anything blocking it. Don't know what's wrong with it. Can someone help???

Your projector is overheated. Make sure you do not have anything covering the fan, and that you power source is connected directly to a wall outlet, not a power hub.
Most of the people cover up the fans so that it wont be as loud. You can simply find these silencers on amazon, but the air will still flow to the projector.

Vivtek d510 projector has black and white spots covering 1/3 of projected image

The DLP Chip is failing .The DLP or Digital Light Projection Chip contains up to 8 million tiny microscopic mirrors that tilt to project a digital image onto the screen. These mirrors are failing causing light and dark spots to appear.Unfortunately fixing this projector is probably going to cost more than buying a new one. Hope this helps.

Is there any way that I can connect my new WONDERWALL projector to my laptop computer

The wonderwall does NOT have the proper inputs for use with a computer for good reason.

A wonderwall projector is NOT a projector that is good enough to be used for movies or games and it would be embarrassing to make a presentation on one. It has WAY less resolution than even old fashioned standard definition TV. Standard def Tv is 720x 480 pixels at 30 cycles. A wonderwall is 480x 240 pixels which is appx. the resolution of a screen on your phone. That's 345,600 for STANDARD def versus only 115,200 pixels for a wonderwall. When you blow that up to 3 feet wide, it'll look pretty mediocre. We have one just like it and we use it to project VHS onto our garage during Halloween and Christmas.

It IS perfect for fun and might be ok to watch old VHS tapes but watching a dvd on one is horrible.

Your 1440 has VGA outputs. A wonderwall has AV (red, white yellow) inputs. You can buy a vga to AV adapter for less than 10 dollars almost anywhere. You don't even need to go to a specialty electronics store.
