I have a safeway beard trimmer model RHS-5 and i need to charge it...i want to know if it can be connected directly into the wall socket using that two pin plug...or does it require an adaptor?

I cannot remember if it came with an adaptor to charge it...or if charges with just a cable...i do not want to damage it

From the picture of this trimmer I saw on the internet, looks like it sits on a custom base. If so, there should be an adapter that plugs into the base for charging. DO NOT try plugging an AC cable directly to the trimmer. You will destroy the trimmer.

SOURCE: Forfex trimmer FX766 won't charge

Angehair,
It is most likely the battery, don't even try to open the case if you don't know what you are doing, Forfex will not replace the batteries in these small trimmers as they state it is too labor intensive, I am working on obtaining batteries for these units.
They have to be soldered in.

SOURCE: Laptop does not work with AC adaptor, does not charge. Mother board issue

You may be able to get a battery charger but its rare.

If you do wish to use the AC adapter, take care with positive and negative. Also the voltage of the battery is actually lower than the AC adapter in order to get charged. I don't know what is going to happen if you do choose to use AC adapter as battery. 75% chance that it will work.

Good luck!

SOURCE: Will not charge or turn on using USB cable.

Two things.

HTC phones will not charge from the USB port unless you have ActiveSync on an XP or Mobile Device Manager on a Vista PC loaded.

Second, if the phone has been stored for a very long time, 1 year if initially charged, 1/2 year if not, the the battery self discharges to a point the USB port PC Sync software doesn't know the phone is connected. You must jump start a charge on the battery by either and HTC AC charger, a generic AC/USB charger will not work, or you can apply a +5 VDC voltage to the power terminal, marked + and - on the battery case, on the two outside terminals I believe. This 5VDC must be current limited for safety. The Red and Black lead inside a standard USB cable will supply current limited +5 volts at 100MA. Chop off a standard USB cable, their cheap and break out expose the Red and Black leads. While connected to the PC USB port, hold the Red lead to the + battery terminal and the Black to the (-), or other outside terminal, of about 30 seconds to a minute.

Now when you plug the phone to the PC with a good USB, the Amber light on the phone to indicate Charging, may not come on for a while, 5 minutes or so, but it will eventually. If it does not, jump the battery again for a longer period of time.

An AC charger for the 3125 are fairly inexpensive. $7 or so, on ebay with shipping. This may be the way to go. Consider getting one with a new battery. They are sold this way sometimes and sometimes for little more that the charger alone.

Charging

This product is not intended for use in the UK. Voltage converters do not always work correctly and will actually ruin your trimmer for use in the USA. It would be best if you purchased a trimmer meant to be used in the UK.

Please contact our customer service for a distributor near you.

Thank you for choosing Andis.
