I have 266 mhz 256MB RAM with intel D845 board. I want to upgrade it to 512mb or 1GB. Can you please tell me whether 333/400mhz will be suitable or where can I get it in hyderabad

hlo hyn you should get RAM 200/266 MHz of 512mb or 1Gb

below are the specifications your motherboard can support.

  • Two DIMM sockets supporting 2.5V (only) 184-pin 200/266 MHz Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
  • Unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs only
  • Maximum total system memory: 2 GB; minimum total system memory: 64 MB
  • Serial Presence Detect (SPD) DIMMs only
  • Suspend to RAM

I bought P3200 ddr 400 1gb memory and when i install it , it does not show up. any ideas why and if there is something i can do .

The Intel® Server Board S875WP1-E supports both ECC and Non ECC Unbuffered PC2100 (266 MHz), PC2700 (333 MHz), or PC3200 (400 MHz) compliant Double Data Rate (DDR) memory modules. Dual channel memory functionality requires two DIMM modules installed into DIMM sockets 1A & 1B, and then DIMM sockets 2A & 2B. The DIMM module size, speed and vendor must be the same.

You can install a single 128 MB memory module into DIMM socket 1A. The minimum supported memory size is 128 MB. The minimum main memory configuration is a single 128 MB memory module, and the maximum configurable memory size is 4GB. With only a single memory module installed, the system will only operate using a one memory channel.

Third party memory vendors may use the same module part number with different
DRAM vendors and die revisions. To insure proper system operation, verify that each DRAM
vendor and die revision has been separately tested and qualified. Please notify CMTL if there is a discrepancy.

Would this particular RAM work with my Dell Dimension 2400? http://cgi.ebay.com/KINGSTON-1GB-DDR-PC2700-ECC-REG-KVR333X72RC25-1G-RAM-/380226148054?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58873e96d6

Hi,

According to the Dell specification found here:
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim2400/en/sm_en/specs.htm#1105481

your PC does not support registered ECC RAM.

Most desktop PCs use unbuffered RAM. Registered ECC (Error Checking and Correcting) is a special type of RAM mostly used in servers.

Unbuffered RAM is faster than ECC RAM and is usually cheaper.

To find RAM that is compatible with your PC try the memory configuration tool at www.crucial.com

Please rate my answer is this was helpful.

Many thanks,

I wish to add RAM in the PC. Mine motherboard-Epox-EP-4BDA533(I). ID(identification)-05/09/2003-i845d-6A69VPA8C-00. On it costs RAM 256Mb -DDR PC2100 266Mg FSB-400Mg. How many Mb it is possible to add....

Manufacturer Specifications - EPoX EP-4BDA533I Number of Slots:
Slot 1
Slot 2
Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.
  • 184-pin DIMM Banking: 2 (2 banks of 1)
  • Chipset: Intel 845D
  • Error Detection Support: ECC and non-ECC
  • Graphics Support: AGP 4X
  • Max Component Density: 512Mb
  • Max Unbuffered DDR SDRAM: 2048MB
  • Module Types Supported: Unbuffered only
  • Supported DRAM Types: DDR SDRAM only
  • USB Support: 1.x Compliant
Q: What memory goes into my computer, and will a faster speed be backward-compatible?
A: DDR memory with support for DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 speeds.
Because DDR memory is backward-compatible, you can safely upgrade your system with any of the guaranteed-compatible DDR speeds listed below, even if your manual calls for PC1600 or PC2100 speeds.
Q: How much memory can my computer handle?
A: 2048MB.
Adding the maximum amount of memory will improve performance and help extend the useful life of your system as you run increasingly demanding software applications in the future.
Q: Do I have to install matching pairs?
A: No.
No, you can install modules one at a time, and you can mix different densities of modules in your computer. But if your computer supports dual-channel memory configurations, you should install in identical pairs (preferably in kits) for optimal performance.
Q: Does my computer support dual-channel memory?
A: No.
Your system does not support dual channel.
Q: Does my computer support ECC memory?
A: Yes.
Your system supports ECC. You can put non-ECC modules into an ECC system, but be sure not to mix ECC and non-ECC modules within a system. Install the same type of modules that are already in your system.

Dell PE 1600SC invalid memory configuration detected

You may need to install memory in matching pairs. If the new memory is a single 1Gb module and you didn't already have a similar one they may not work together. Try removing the original module(s) and see if it makes a difference.

Sl-75frv memorys

Dear Sir,

You can install upto 3 GB RAM. i.e. 1GB PC3200 DIMM RAM in each slot.

Please go to BIOS settings & load the defaults. / check following. BIOS settings.
DIMM clock & timing is auto/ detected by SPD (Serial Presence Detect)

Possibly the 1GB RAM you are trying to install does not have SPD / is faulty. Try with a new / working 1 GB RAM.

Hope this helps you friend...
