Depending on the version of router you have. You can download the user manual here.
http://www.belkin.com/support/article/?lid=en&aid=5999

http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/p74559-g_f5d7230-4v9xxx_manual.pdf

Using your Internet browser, you can access the Router’s Web-Based
Advanced User Interface. In your browser, type “192.168.2.1” (you do not
need to type in anything else such as “http://” or “www”). Then press the
“Enter” key.
Logging into the Router
You will see the Router’s home page in your browser window. The home
page is visible to any user who wants to see it. To make any changes to
the Router’s settings, you have to log in. Clicking the “Login” button or
clicking on any one of the links on the home page will take you to the login
screen. The Router ships with no password entered. In the login screen,
leave the password blank and click the “Submit” button to log in.

On the back of the router,
Restoring the Factory Defaults
Press and hold the “Reset” button for at least 10 seconds,
then release it. The lights on the Router will momentarily
flash. The Power/Ready light will begin to blink. When
the Power/Ready light becomes solid again, the restore
is complete.

Enter client device pin

The client device PIN is a WPS method to connect to the network
I would suggest you disable the WPS feature and go with standard WPA or WEP

To get the PIN :
Turn off / Disable wifi in the laptop
  1. - Hardwire the computer and router
  1. - Open the router setup page ( http://192.168.2.1 )
  1. - Click wi fi Protected setup on the left side
  1. - Scroll down a little and you can find the router PIN
  1. - This is the number that you need to enter in the device
To Enable WPA Security in the wireless network
Turn off / Disable wifi in the laptop
  1. - Hardwire the computer and router
  1. - Open the router setup page ( http://192.168.2.1 )

  1. - Leave the password blank and click submit
  1. - Disable Wi Fi Protected setup at the top and click Apply Changes
  1. - Click Security under wireless on the left side

What i have to do if its asking for a PIN Number when connecting a Belkin...

Hi Friends,

When you are connecting the Belkin router in Wireless,if it asks for PIN Number then please follow the below mentioned standard steps,

Step 1:Connect the belkin router to any one of your computer with an enternet cable.

Step 2:Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.2.1 and click on Enter button in the keyboard.

Step 3:Now you will be able to see the belkin router page

Step 4:On your left side click on Wifi Protected Setup (WPS),now it will ask for password leave it blank and click on Submit.

Stpe 5:Now Change the WPS (Wifi Protected setup) to disable and click on Apply Changes.

Step 6:Now Try to connect the Wireless Networks in your wireless computer,it wont ask for PIN Number.

The above mentioned steps are the standard steps for the this problem. This is done because by default the belkin router's will be enabled with 2 security features so we have to disable any one of this feature. If you disable this then you wont have any Problem in the belkin router.

How to use router without using wifi in belkin n150

This model Belkin wireless router has 4 LAN ports so you can connect a LAN cable from this wireless router to your computer.
I suggest you disable the wireless in the router so no one can access your network and Internet. If you cannot disable the wireless then you can setup WPA2 encryption to secure your wireless network or just remove the aerial off the wireless router.

I've locked the wifi connection so only my laptop can access it how do i open it to make it free for everyone around the wifi router?

Just "undo" what you did to "lock" it.
Then, run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard",
and pick an SSID and a password,
and tell the password *ONLY* to your friends/family,
since you don't want somebody sitting in their car, outside your home,
to "steal" your Internet access (for "hacking" purposes).

Belkin 54 Wireless Internet Connection Problems

Hello,

If wireless adapter on the laptop is fairly old, you may need to update the drivers for the wireless adapter. Some older wireless adapters are not capable of properly communicating with WPA devices. Typically a driver update of the laptop resolves the issue. If not, try another wifi adapter and verify it is not the OS or laptop itself.

Good Luck.

Security enable

Hi,
Just go to the connections in your wifi list and double click on your router, and enter your username and password.
You can Click the Automatically connect to this Network button too.
Otherwise, you can put 192.168.0.1 into your internet browser URL address bar and hit enter. This is the router's local IP address. Go to security and Disable WEP or WPA or whatever encryption is enabled.

Hope this helps

Chris (ziraffa)

ps also make sure the 'Wireless' button is clicked on your laptop and the blue wifi light is on!
