SOURCE: XL1800 still works fine but makes a lot of noise while on.

It may be the stirrer in the ceiling area.

SOURCE: LG Fridge making intermittent sound - like something hitting fan

GAIN ACCESS TO THE FAN IN THE FREEZER(EASIER SAID THAN DONE) AND INSPECT THE FAN BLADE AND FAN SHROUD. HAVE REFRIGERATOR TURNED OFF AND MANUALLY ADVANCE FAN BLADE. WATCH FOR SLIGHT CONTACT BETWEEN THE FAN BLADE AND OTHER OBJECTS NEAR IT-ELECTRICAL WIRING, FAN SHROUD, ICE CYCLE,ETC. ADJUST FAN BLADE OR OBJECT TO INCREASE CLEARANCE.

SOURCE: AC make loud noise on power off.

Is this a wndow unit or central air system? if this is a window unit , your problem is it only needs cleanning (dirt dbber nest-- trash around the back blades-- or the unt is twisted and rubbing the fan shroud. Last but not least, the slinger ring around the back blades (a ring around the end of the blades thats picks up water in the bottom of the unit and sling it on the coils to help cool the hot gases....Thank-you Thank you Thank you very much!

SOURCE: acer m5100 desktop fan is making noise

Hi:
Often, just dust can make fans noisy. You can unplug everything, take the side cover off of your tower, and blow it out with a can of the air duster you can buy at a computer store, paying close attention to the fans. If you are not comfortable with this, a local shop should be able to clean it up for you for not a lot of cash, and if a fan is really bad, they could identify which one it is for you too.

Why does my GE Spacesaver Profile, Microwave/Convection Oven, model # JVM1490SD003, in my motorhome, make a clicking noise when I start it up? Sounds like a fan hitting something. The noise goes away

Probably is the fan tapping something. Power it down/DISCONNECT power. pull unit and if there is a cover, remove it. look for the convection fan and see if it free-spins. should find spot where it is hitting and could be adjusted.

KitchenAid KHTU160KSS Kitchen Hood makes noise

Remove the fan and motor assembly from the hood (the fan motor will plug into the hood housing) and using an electrical motor cleaner (such as CRC electrical motor cleaner available from your local auto parts store) wash the motor and fan as completely as possible, lubricate the end bearings (sparingly) with a very light oil such as sewing machine oil, gun oil or as a last resort 3 in 1 oil. Hope this helps.

My 10 year old amana fridge makes a noise from the fan in the freezer it sounds like something is hitting it ,but on inspection I see nothing hitting it

Look closer because ice can build up and the fan just barely hits it making the noise. If the fan blades are not hitting anything, replace the fan motor as the bearings are getting worn out.

Water doens't drain properly and sitting there,

that's fairly common for window units, it's ok to drill a small hole in the underside of the case to drain the water, just be sure you don't puncture the condenser in the process.

Fan started making noise

I have one of these, and every so often, the fan would start making a loud clicking noise. I discovered that if I shut the fridge off for a while and left the door open to defrost it, it'd work fine again for a while before the noise came back. Apparently, some ice was building up between the metal heat-sink and the fan, causing the fan blades to scrape against the ice/frost build-up and make the "tick, tick tick" noise.
There is no compressor in the Avanti EC15W-2 mini fridge. It uses a simple Peltier junction device to transfer heat from the inside of the fridge to the outside/rear of the unit. So it should never get very loud at all, unless one of the two fans in it is acting up in some way.

Whirlpool side by side fridge stops cooling/freezing!!!

No its not button I would know about after 30 some years. You may be having 2 or more symptoms begin caused by the same problem though. The noise at night tapping may be because (and indeed may be doing it ll the time you just don't notice it due to the angle of echo in your home and kitchen) I suspect the fan blade (Im betting on the one behind and below by the compressor) is either bent slightly or hitting. something. I have seen anythign from mice to papers get close to the fan blades and cause a mistery problem. This would explain the defrosting also especially if it cant get going again.
Take off the back cover and look for the fan motor and spin the fan if its stopped. You also need a strong flashlight to look out for what might be causing it. If it is a mouse dont worry he will only be bothering those cats that have lived into the 10th life.

As for the grinding noise.../when you get water... and the leaking... is the leaking comming form the water area or the defrosting? Ok you say defrosting so that could be explained by the outer fan. The noise though maybe even the cardboard baffel in the back is getting in the way of thatfan in back. And i think it might be your water line gettign hit by this fan. That would tie in and make all the trouble stem from a water line hitting the fan. If tihs is it please tell me so I can recover from not knowing if Im helping people out here. Im beginning to think Im wasting my time. Please post more so I'll know.

And if you tell me, please rate me too

York HVAC unit fan is making a lot of noise. Hot air down come out, and in the summer coll air did come out, but the fan is loud. Thanks

If your fan is making noise the blade or blower wheel is either hitting something or the bearings in the motor are bad and the motor needs to be replaced.
