SOURCE: hammer drills and rotary hammers comparison

Basically yes. Lower power units are usually titled as "hammer drills." Higher power units, usually labeled "rotary hammers," tend to be larger and provide bigger impact forces. But there are a few differences that are worth knowing: The rotary hammer usually have a chisel only feature, for light chiseling and masonry removal. Rotary hammers also have specially designed chucks that only accept bits specifically designed to fit their chuck. The special chuck on a rotary hammer helps hold the drill bit and prevents it from slipping during use.

SOURCE: i have a bosch rotary hammer 11245evs and it was

They are filled with a special grease that comes from Bosch. It sounds like the impact bolt or the striker pin in the unit are not moving the way they should. These are the pieces that work together to create the hitting action. About all that can be done now is the unit has to be dismantled to get those to pieces moving again. Bosch makes what they call service packs for all thier hammers. They have all the o-rings and grease to get your hammer working again. A Bosch service center can supply you with the kit. Ask for P/N 1617000225, or they can take care of it for you.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: dewalt cordless drill dc988- drill motor works

Test the brushes by catching it in a stalled condition when you have it triggered, then rotate it slightly. If it takes off suspect the brushes or a dead segment on the comutator.

If it doesn't respond to this, then consider the VSR trigger... open it and test by bypassing it when in stalled condition...

Dewalt DCH253 drill loses power

It's common for the brushes to pop out of place causing partial contact to the armature . If there not damaged you can simply slide the brush and holder back in place or replace if damaged. .another common issue is the leads going to the motor can become damaged . Most of the time you can clean the terminals and reattach them to the motor .if loose use pliers to carefully squeeze the terminals to the contacts on motor . .I hope that helps !

Sparks coming off brush

#1 Check your brushes & brush springs - you will have to remove the switch handle completely to access both brushes
#2 Visual of the armature - is it black / burnt or does it have raised segments?
Most likely it will need an armature if it has run for any length of time with bad brushes.
The armature comes out the front of the motor housing so you need to remove the gearcase to access it. Armature 2610003331 for Bosch Power Tool eReplacement Parts Carbon Brush Set

How to change brushes on bosch11227e rotary hammer

Disconnect the power cord from power supply first---ON most electric machines the brushes are under a small threaded button on either side of the motor case near the end. They are plastic and when unscrewed will have a spring around a copper wire attached to the brush. Just pull out and push in the new units ensuring that any curve of the brush will fit around the armature. Retighten the plastic cap.

What is wrong when the 11245evs drill starts smoking?

It could be that the motor isn't getting the proper current to run, causing it to overheat. Don't use long or low guage extension cords with this type of tool. If the brush holder is warped or the brushes are worn down so that they aren't making good contact with the armature the same condition could arrise. It's possible you have a short or broken wire in the armature or field that's causing it to arc and heat up. Another possibility is something wrong in the workings of the drill that is causing the motor to overwork and get hot. There are a LOT of parts in there so you'd have to take it apart and know what to look for as far as damaged or broken parts.

My d25650 runs very hot and releases a little bit of smoke. Will replacing the brushes take care of this problem

Probably not. The heat and releasing smoke part is concerning. When brushes fail either one of two things happens. Either the tool just quits or if worn down far enough it can short out the armature. You may have a bearing (possible armature bearings) getting ready to lock up.

I have a bosch brute hammer drill, that just stopped working after 2 hours of breaking up concrete and rock. It is brand new, and worked fine to start with, but then gradually took longer and longer to...

Take it back as it is still under warranty. If there was anything you could do other than letting it cool down it would be in the instructions.( which you have since it is brand new.)
