hey i also had this problem, i don't know the name of these but they are basically plugs that you have to block output from the front rear and center speakers of the white/red cables... sry for bad description but its on the left side when looking at the back of the receiver, while all of the other speaker wires should be hooked up to the right with the twisting knobs... it took me forever to find this out but yeah it was a simple fix

please look at your dameged power adabtor suplay it gives you all specification ,like, voltage, amp nad so on, and go to electornice retailers like radio shack ,and............ you can find replacment for it .
make sure have your old one with you , or manual book that came with your spekers.

I have my own resopurce already but the thing is you need to spend money for the repair. I contacted a service engineer for the unit and they sy it can be repaired.

Select product support on the front page, then go to parts.
Then select your product as Harmaron/Kardon SoundsticksII and select your country.

Ensure that your speakers are connected to the terminals that you have your speaker selector switch turned to.
Then check that you have your device, whether it be a CD or DVD player, or turntable, plugged into the correct input and that you also have the correct input selected on the receiver.
