The belt is very loose on my Rotel CD player although it does not look perished. I used an earbud to clean the belt with water. Take of the cover. Power off. Move the tray in out with your hand and hold the earbud underneath the belt. Once clean mix sugar and water and apply to the belt. Wait a bit for it to dry. It works like a charm. My 26 year old Rotel still going strong :-)

Hello Ruben, so you do not open the CD holder tray of your Rotel, the problem is that the belt that transmits the rotation of the engine to the mechanism of the car, may be stretched and therefore the car does not open, this is the most common fault in this type of CD players
You should replace it, if you can not do it, look for a specialized technical service
I hope you can solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

Saludos Franco Dosil

SOURCE: hi there . i have

Hold the function button in while it says CD.
Turn the machine off then on.
Try to eject now.
Worked for me.

This was achieved accidentally so if it doesn't work first time, try various combinations using these two buttons.

My denon rcd-m35dab, there is disc in and plays ok but cannot open the drawer it just shuts down/turns itself off

Check the belt or drive that is responsible for opening up the disk tray. If it is slipping the disk will not come out.

Neither CD tray of my Sony RCD-W3 will open. Its not due to heavy use as i do not use it all that often.

I had the same issue with my Sony RCD-W3. Both trays wouldn't open but I could hear the motors trying really hard to get them too. I tried to release the trays from the outside with a thin tool but had no success. So I took the cover off, then removed the silver piece that sits on top of the CD/CD-RW drives. Not sure what its called but the piece that spins the disc with the motor magnetically. I then was able get enough room the push the long white piece that moves the gears to the left which released the trays. Once open I found that the belts were too stiff for the motors to move them. They were stuck in an Ice cream cone shape. My unit must have been sitting for quite some time. After dissecting a couple of junked CD players I had laying around I found replacement belts that fit. Put everything back together and both trays worked perfectly! But....now I'm having issues dubbing CD's. It keeps failing and/or skipping. I'm going to go search for that question now!
Hope this helps someone!

Right side cd will not open. Took off cover and if I push down slightly on the apparatus in front of the ribbon the door will open but only if I push down on that point

There is a small round rubber belt which allows a motor to open the tray. Open the tray, as you say you can, Remove the mains plug. Remove the mounting screws for the deck and you will find the small drive belt underneath. I would recommend buying 2 belts and replacing them both. The diameter is 1 or 2 mm less than the old one (because they stretch)

The tray will not open/eject on either deck; it tries to open but just says TOC no disk.

I have the same problem with both trays on a Sony RCD-W3 not ejecting. If you push the tray sometimes it opens, but takes a few attempts. the recording CD sometimes doesn't see the disk but ejecting and re-entering it normally gets around that. I have no permanent solution, I'm afraid. Probably needs to be opened up and rails greased/oiled or something like that.

Display reads OPEN LOCK when I try to open dvd tray.

Samsung Home Theater Systems have a Dealer Lock or Tray Lock Function that prevents the disc tray from being opened.
There are four procedures for turning off the Dealer Lock function. Try one, then the other, to see which works on your system.
Unlocking Procedure 1 To turn off the Dealer Lock function, follow these steps:
  1. Turn on your Home Theater System.
  2. Press the Stop button on the front panel and the Power button on the remote control simultaneously for four seconds.
Note: Repeating the two steps above turns the dealer lock on again.
Unlocking Procedure 2 To turn off the Dealer Lock function, follow these steps
  1. Turn on your Home Theater System.
  2. Press and hold the Function button on the front panel for 3 seconds. The display shows the word Unlock.
Note: Repeating the two steps above turns the dealer lock on again.
Unlocking Procedure 3 To turn off the Dealer Lock function, follow these steps
  1. Turn on your Home Theater System.
  2. Press and hold the Open/Close button on the DVD player on the front panel for more than 4 seconds.
Note: Repeating the two steps above turns Dealer Lock on again.
Unlocking Procedure 4 To turn off the Dealer Lock function, follow these steps
  1. Using the HTS remote press the Menu button + 712, and the HTS will display CAN OPEN.
The Dealer Lock feature is mainly used by retailers to ensure that the display discs are not removed. However, parents of young children may find this feature very useful as well.
